Question about Honeywell Air Conditioners

1 Answer

I purchased a honeywell t6360 thermostat to replace old one as the dial would not turn properly as it was cracked. I replaced the dial with the new dial from the new box. However, i had no point of reference as to where '0' or '30' was so i guessed by where the internal wheel stopped and started. the heating in my house is now eratic and not in sinc with the dial. Is the temperature controlled from in the unit itself, should i just put on the new box and where does the dial get positioned? please help. Treva 0113 2888058

Put on the new box, and the therm regulates the temp. The therm only sends a signal to your furance when the sensor in the therm tells it to.

Sounds like you've damaged the sensor some, how, if the unit isn't comming on at all when you set the temp, replace the new therm. They have a warranty. Honeywell is a great brand, I use only honeywell in all my installations. Perhaps a different line of therm for yur application?

Did you keep the old thermostat? I prefer them. New ones want batteries, and can get complicated.

Honeywell RTH7500D Thermostat

This Honeywell thermostat is a good medium priced thermostat that will give you many bells and whistles at a very good price. The programming is very easy to do and of course the thermostat is very reliable also.

The installation of this thermostat is very easy and if you need help with the installation you can go here to see the complete installation guide.

If you have lost your owners manual and need a copy of it you can go here

http://customer.honeywell.com/techlit/pdf/PackedLit/69-2222ES.pdf

With the help of these .pdf files you can get all the information that you need to install and troubleshoot your RTH7500D thermostat.
If you are replacing a thermostat make sure that you turn off power to your heating or air conditioning system BEFORE you start removing any wires. Failure to do so could cause you to burn out the 24v transformer of your system. Also make sure to mark all wires well before removal so that you know which wire went where and so that you can reinstall the old thermostat as it was if something goes wrong with the new installation.

For heat pump systems you WILL have to make some programming changes to the thermostat to get it to work with a heat pump system. Most all thermostats come programmed for conventional systems. This reprogramming is not difficult but is required for proper operation.

Not sure if your needing info on air conditioner or a thermostat but here is the link to honeywell. Just choose your product and model #. If it was the thermostat your replacing, look back at the old one and write down what wires went where. There should be letters/numbers by each connection. This will help with the new installation.

We removed an old honeywell thermostat (dial) and are trying to install a honeywell RTH1100B. When we removed the wires on the old thermostat, they were connected to B, G, Y, and R. The new thermostat says...

Not sure what B was on the old one.. B on the new one would be for heat pump. You will need a wire to W if you have heating system. R is for the 24 v coming to the stat. G is used to control the blower. Y is to control the air conditioner.

I just got a new honeywell thermostat and it when i first hooked it up it wouldnt turn on so i check to find out which connections on the thermostat when open i changed my wire to make it correct now when...

Hello my name is Heath it will be my pleasure to assit you. If you did not turn the power off to the furnace before rerplacing the thermostat then you may have burned out the board in the furnace. But first if there is a RH/Rc terminal in the new thermostat then try removing the jumper between the two and see if the thermostat will operate properly.

How do i uninstall my old honeywell mercury thermostat

There are three parts to a T87F thermostat. Outer ring, thermostat body, and base mount. Remove the snap on ring that goes around the dial. Remove three screws from the thermostat that mount it to its base. Remove the thermostat. Disconnect and record what screws each wire attaches to. Remove the screws holding the base to the wall.
