Question about Honeywell Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I purchased a honeywell t6360 thermostat to replace old one as the dial would not turn properly as it was cracked. I replaced the dial with the new dial from the new box. However, i had no point of reference as to where '0' or '30' was so i guessed by where the internal wheel stopped and started. the heating in my house is now eratic and not in sinc with the dial. Is the temperature controlled from in the unit itself, should i just put on the new box and where does the dial get positioned? please help. Treva 0113 2888058

Put on the new box, and the therm regulates the temp. The therm only sends a signal to your furance when the sensor in the therm tells it to.

Sounds like you've damaged the sensor some, how, if the unit isn't comming on at all when you set the temp, replace the new therm. They have a warranty. Honeywell is a great brand, I use only honeywell in all my installations. Perhaps a different line of therm for yur application?

T6360 dial not working

Turn system off then back on and see if it is working. The manual can be obtained at:

There is not enough information to give you any more help. What does "Dial not working indicate", the Honeywell T6360b1028 is a heating and cooling thermostat with the potential of having a heat anticipator.

I have a honeywell thermostat t6360.the light stays on continuously whereas before it only came on when the heating was due to come on.now the heating doesnt come on at all.

Many thermostats have battery backup as well as the 24 volt ac. Have you replaced the batteries to see if it fixes all of your issues at once?

Three wires not marked for new Thermostat!

You will need to go to the heating system and see what color wires are hooked to that. Typically the black and white wires will be used unless they used another color due to a bad wire. Hook the colored wires to the R or RH terminal on the thermostat and the other wire to the W terminal. You can also try taking the wires you have and one by one twisting them together and have a second person inform you when the heating system turns on. Take those two wires and hook them to the terminals I mentioned above.

Cannot get new thermostat to work

didn't wire up correctly or if purchased a digital one didn't set up correctly, look at the instructions and should tell you how to set t-tstat up or if you have to remove or move jumper.

Blower not working with new thermostat

To get the fan to work, look at the heating system to see what termoinal the blue wire is connected to. It should be the "G" terminal. If so, connect the blue wire to the "G" terminal on the thermostat and then manualy switch the thermostat to "Fan On". Indicate what terminals you have on your new thermonsta ie "G" "R" "Y" "C" "W" etc... For a fan to work, typically you connect "R" to "G" on the furnace.

Thermostat burning walls

your thermostat may not be made for electric heat, if not then your wiring is overloading the thermostat causing the wires to heat up.

My heat is turning on but the fan isnt working. my honeywell thermostat is showing a flame and a blinking battery, and i know nothing about this thermostat, we just moved in . Can u help?

This is not a PC problem
Symptom
Heating comes on, but sometimes it
gets too hot, sometimes too cold.
Neutral not connected
Cure
Check wiring in room thermostat. Look for a
connection to the Neutral terminal (N 2 on
the Honeywell T6060, T6160, and T6360).
Make sure that it is connected (check
continuity).
If there is no neutral available, replace with a
two-wire thermostat, e.g., CT200, CM61 or
CM67. These will also offer extra energy
savings, (Without a neutral connection, the anticipator within the room thermostat does not work,
so the temperature control reduces from ± ½ºC to ±3ºC. People can feel a six degree
temperature swing. Then, if they try to adjust the room thermostat to overcome the
problem, the temperature swings become even worse.)

Changing a room thermostat a potterton to honeywell t6360

I think I've done it - but don't take this as absolute truth.
For the Honeywell T6360B the original Potterton wiring should be rewired as follows:
Brown [Live] goes to terminal 1; Blue [neutral] goes to Terminal 2 and the yellow/green [which is not an earth but a switched live - i.e. gives live to the heating system when the thermostat clicks in] goes to terminal 3.
Obviously all done with the power isolated and when it was switched back on we had heating again :o)
It's been on over two hours now and all seems fine.
