Hi and welcome to FixYa,

To my knowledge, there are a couple of reasons why an electric shaver would no longer cut:

  • the blades are already dull, replacement;
  • the angle of the blades have changed, replace;
  • the screen/grill cover is clogged, cleaning;
  • the blade rotation is slow, motor problem, replace;
  • the blade rotation is slow, motor spins lower and slower, battery weak, needs recharging or replacement.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

    HI,

    Determine which type of shaver you have. There are
    two main types: rotary head and foil/cutter. If the shaver doesn't cut
    like it used to, it could be the cutter or the foils may need replaced.
    It's recommended that with the foil/cutter model, the cutter and foils
    be replaced approximately every nine months. Rotary head shavers should
    have the head replaced every 2 years.

    Step2
    Charge the shaver if it's the cordless type. If you notice the speed of
    the shaver slowing down, that could be the problem. If the slowness
    persists, the battery pack may need to be replaced. If the shaver takes
    batteries, you will need to take it to a professional that specializes
    in shaver repair. The batteries are attached to foil, and it takes a
    special tool to remove them.

    Step3
    Repair a foil/cutter shaver by first unplugging the shaver (if it's the
    cord/cordless type). Next, take out either the screws or clips or
    pressing the pressure button.

    Step4
    Remove the screen, and clean it with a brush that most shavers come
    with. If the head looks corroded, purchase a new head. Remove the
    assembly unit for the blades, and clean it with canned air. Lubricate
    all areas with shaver oil lubricant. Read the owner's manual to
    determine what type of lubricant to use and what areas need
    lubrication.

    Step5
    Repair a rotary head shaver much the same way except use a clean, flat
    surface to clean all the parts. Again use lubrication as recommended by
    the manufacturer.

    Step6
    Maintain your electric shaver by cleaning once a month and replacing parts as suggested by the manufacturer.

Brought a new cutting bar but would not cut

Most, likely, your oscillator is broken. It is the plastic piece that transfers the rotary motion of the motor to a 'back and forth' motion

Where do I oil my Braun 4700 series shaver ? On the foil, the cutting block or where the cutting block plugs into the base area? Thank you.

With the shaver fully assembled, apply one drop to each of the two foils. Turn the shaver on and run for 5 seconds to spread the oil accross the foils

When I turn on my Pilishave razor the blades don't turn. When I open the top, the plastic pieces the turn the blades turn, but when I close it the blades don't turn. What is wrong?

Your blades are either damaged and locking up or they are so clogged with hair that they can not turn.
I suggest that you try to clean them first. If that doesn't work you will need to change them. You will find replacements for model HQ4806 at shaveroutlet.com. See link below for product and disassembly instruction video

The shaver is **** after using it still not smooth , it says it has holes and slots for all type of growth ( after full charge it sounds like it has not the energy to cut baby hair) for all the grand prix...

First thing, reset the outlet. That's a common thing looked over. Next (if that doesn't work) is pull out the warranty papers because if it isn't the outlet, then it's the product. If you have had it for less than a year, they should allow you to use your warranty and have them fix it.

I installed 3 new heads but the shaver just is not shaving off my 5 day old beard... It's battery seems fine as the motor seems to be running at normal speed. Confused Carl

Your Norelco shaver is not designed for cutting 5 days of growth. Your shaver is designed for cutting one, maybe two days of growth only. Use the trimmer on the back to cut the whiskers to a shorter stubble. Then the hairs will more effectively poke through the holes and slots in the combs allowing the blades to shave them as designed.

Razor is not cutting

When the shaver is no longer cutting properly, this usually means that the heads need changed. You will find replacements for model 7735X at shaveroutlet.com.
