Question about GE Quiet-Aire Ductless Split System Air Conditioner AS1CD12AA0/AS0CD12AA0

My GE ductless system is not heating properly and trips breaker

My system trips the breaker and the fan on the inside unit will not blow when in the heat mode. Fan is working as it runs for air and dehumidifying modes. Was told that the overload needs replacing but GE will not give tech advice to my service guy because they are not certified on their product. What can I do?

Call them yourself. Let them know your compressor is tripping your breakers. Also, ask how to obtain parts for your system. It's rediculous an hvac tech cannot get advise from ge.

One of my ductless a/c units is not blowing cold

Check to see if all of the outside condensing units are running. Identify the one that is part of the "problem" system. Is it running? What is different about that one than the others? Let us know and we will dig deeper into helping you troubleshoot.
If it is not running, check for any tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses to the outdoor unit.
Let us know.

I hope you find this information to be very helpful to you as a jumping off point, moving forward.

LG Ductless Mini Split System LAN125hv: Heat pump doesn't run.

First check your circuit breaker or fuse that supplies power to the outside unit. It's probably separate from the inside unit. Then try to turn unit on. If the fan and compressor just make a humming sound then turn it off and check the capacitor if you have a multimeter. You can also look at it and see if the top looks expanded. That's a good sign its bad, but not all bad one's look expanded. Tomorrow I will have access to an LG service manual and can let you know what the code means. Sorry I can't get it sooner. Let me know what you find.

Energy Knight heat pump refuses to blow!

Does this problem happen when the temperature is below 30 degrees? When it gets about that cold outside, the air outside is too cold for the heat pump to "steal" heat from. On the thermostat you'll find a switch labeled aux or emergency heat. Turning this switch on will operate a traditional coil heater inside the system, providing you with heat. The only downfall to this is that it uses more energy to heat this way. Try turning the fan switch from "auto" to "on". If the fan comes on, then we can rule that out. If the aux heat switch is NOT on, set the thermostat such that the system will try to heat. If the outside unit is running, the problem is either it being too cold like I said earlier, or there's a problem with the heat pump's mechanical system that needs to be serviced by a professional. If the outside unit doesn't run but it should be, check it's breakers at the panel, the breaker inside the electrical box that feeds it, and look to see if there's a reset button on the unit itself. Finally, check the air handler (part of the system inside with the fan in it) to see if there's any circuit breakers or fuses on this unit. Make sure they're not tripped/blown. If none of this helps, you definitely want to get a pro to work on your system.

Fujitsu split system not working

Hi, I know its a split as you have noted, and I am sure it would be a ductless heat pump system. Unless you are having a problem programming the t-stat, the manual would be of little help on these units.I wish you would have given more on the symptoms, like does it blow cold air or either unit will not work? You say it will not heat. On a H.P., it could be many things.Lets say its blowing cold air. Check the outdoor unit to make sure it comes on in the heat mode also, and the fan is on.Make sure you turn the heat up far enough to bring on the outdoor unit 1st. If it doesn't come on, then find the breaker to see if it is tripped. If yes, turn off hard and on again hard. if it stays on, great. If not, then It gets more complicated as compressor may have shorted out. Please check these things for me, please so we can solve this for you. On a heat pump, if you loose a compressor lets say, you have electric heat strips in the indoor unit that should come on if you have a switch on the T-stat that will say emergency heat. Try and use this setting to see if you can get some heat. I am trying to offer a solution to get you some temp. heat until we locate the main problem. If the indoor or outdoor units are not running at all, check for power at all breakers, and, check program on t-stat to make sure you set on heat, fan to auto, and temp to where you are comfortable. From here after checking all of these solutions, let me know what the status is and if it did not work, to tell me more of the original symptoms so I can go from there. Best of Luck,
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7

Fan motor comes on, however, when a/c is turned on, breaker pops

If the unit is working fine in heat mode and in fan only mode, you have a short in the wiring going to the ouside unit. If it were a fan relay, then everytime the fan came on the breaker would trip. But either way, there is a low voltage short taking place in the unit. If the compressor was bad, the indoor unit would run fine and would only blow the breakers to the ouside unit. I had a unit last summer that did the same exact thing. After I replaced the control wiring to the outside unit, everything worked like a charm. Good luck!

Air condition unit will not cool and the coils freeze up in just a few min.

Is the inside fan running properly? Typically if the condensor outside is working, but the fan inside is not, the coils will freeze up quickly. For the system to work properly, you need to be blowing warmer air over the coils inside the house- that then brings the temp of the refrigerant in the coils back up, and the loop continues. If the fan inside is not working, check to make sure that the circuit breaker is not tripped.
