Canon pixma ip3000 print problem

The blue prints in bands of light and dark. The horizonal bands are uniform across the page and about one-eigth inch wide (e.g., if I print a solid blue square, the first 1/8" will be lighter blue, the next normal blue, the next lighter blue, etc.) The pattern is consistant all the way down the page. It happens when printing a photo, graphic, or text. Black and other colors print normally. I have performed all the cleaning and alignment operations with no change in the print output. Changing the cyan ink tank did not help either.

I have the same problem. I print the test pages and found the blue colour was divided into two bands. Lower band shows light in colour. The lower part of the words "6C", "6M" and "6Y' are not black.

I too am having a problem with cyan streaking. In the nozzle check, the first cyan is there with streaks but the second cyan is barely legible. The other colors are fine. I even try to put in a new tank. It did not help.

Started printing light / dark blue bands instead of same shade. Tried cleaning but no different. Thanks.

Do a proper head clean.

Remove the cartridges and put them aside.

Remove Print head taking care not to touch the metal parts.

Boil some water, pour one quarter inch of boiling water into saucer.

Place the part of the print head where the ink comes out in the water.

Give it a few seconds, you will see the ink coming out into the water.

Sit the print head on some paper towel with the part where the ink comes out on the towel and let the excess water be absorbed by towel..

Replace print head in printer, taking care not to touch the metal parts.

Place cartridges back in print head.

Do some test runs to check the condition of the head, you may have to do a head clean or two.....

If that doesn't work try a new blue cartridge.

Usually works on my machine.

The effecds like 'banding' very often this happens when the ink is running low.

When you say 'full color' do you mean at the 'best' [i.e. most ink used] setting or the you are printing the image on a full sheet of paper?

How do your images appear when you print small, say wallet sized, single image only on the page? draft mode? Gray scale?
