Door locked open

I have a Bosch Nexxt front load washing machine - WFMC3200UC/01. The door is "locked open" That is the door is open but the latch is locked shut. When the latch is in the locked posisition, the door can not be shut. I have tried unplugging the system and plugging it back in. When I plug the system back in and move the dial to a selection, the "door locked" light goes on on the display panel. How can I get the latch to release so I can properly shut the door. In its current state the system recognizes the door is not shut properly so it will not run, but it will not release the locking mechanism either. Any suggestions? Thank you,

Thanks for suggestion. Let me tell readers of other ways. If you push on the back of the latch mechanism, it will unlatch. If you unplug the system and remove the top, you can reach your hand down and do this. I discovered this the expensive way. I purchased a new latch mechanism and installed it. Then I worked on the old one and figured it out. The emergency release mechanism on the old lock prevented examining it until I had removed it (The cable attachment was locked in place). The new emergency mechanism would have permitted me to have examine the locking mechanism before purchasing a new one. Bosch bulletins and notices are very very poor. I will definetly think 2 or 3 times before every purchasing Bosch again.

Tool: We cut a piece a wire about 10 inches long from a wire clothes hanger. On one end we bent 1/2 inch of the wire in a 90 degree angle with needle nose pliers. On the other end of wire we put another bend at least three inches.(this end will be your handle end) Process of using homemade tool to release latch: Make sure washing machine is on a wash cycle. Use flash light to locate latch in the locking catch. Insert the small bend of the tool into the locking catch. Then hook onto the latch and pull out --apply a small amount of pressure -- about three lbs of pressure) Then at the same time you are pulling, press in on the door release button (the little white button above the latch hole where you now have the wire inserted). As your are pulling with little pressure on the latch, hold the little white button in and press the start /stop button. You should hear the door lock. Let machine start working. (about ten seconds) Now push start/stop button again and you should hear door lock release. Your lock catch should give away. This worked for us.

Getting the door open is the easy part. Finding out why it won't open might take a little doing -- though replacing the door latch is also easy. To get the door open, Take an awl or something pointy and place it in the hole on the small round cover in the lower left front of the machine. Now use this to turn the cover, unscrewing it from the machine. Once the cover is off, you should see a plastic rod hanging down. Pull this rod and it will unlock the door. You can now remove your wet clothes from the machine and investigate the cause of the problem.

Error code E:01

Hi and welcome to Fixya, The E01 error for your bosch indicates a door lock problem has been detected at the control board. Insure the door is closed tight, turn your breaker off or unplug the washer for a couple of minutes and retry. Let me know what happens, ultimately it may be a faulty lock assembly, a loose wire harness etc. but we'll cross that bridge when we get there...if necessary. I'll watch for you to respond with the result's. Good luck. Macmarkus :)

Bosch WFMC3200UC

I'm having a hard time understanding what is happening with my Bosch. Mine is filling and then immediately emptying out. Then the door unlocks but the timer indicates 45 minutes left (or so) and the door lock light is still on. Usually the only cycle that spins now is the spin cycle, but this doesn't help me get the soap out of the clothes still in the drum.

When the machine fills but doesn't rotate, the water level seems low as well. I had a repair man out who thought it might be the door latch sensor needing replacing (honestly, my toddler was pushing that button repeatedly), but I don't think that's it.

What does work: I unplug it for a while. Then if I'm lucky and the laundry Gods are shining down on me, I can wash normally (usually I'm luckier on Permanent Press but I always used to use the Cotton side). However, once I turn the machine "off," that's it all the problems persist so I have to wash it all, one load after another.

Call the Customer Service number located in your manual. Discribe to them what you have said here and they will send one to you for FREE! This is a problem that should NOT happen.
Moving forward, once you get it spray it down with Lysol Mold and Mildew Prevention and let it dry a couple of days before you install it.
