It means that you are missing an audio codec. Find out what sound board/card you have, and download the most up to date drivers for it, either by your laptop's website, or from the sound card's website.

You may also need to download an Ac3 filter. Just search online and download. Though downloading the new sound drivers should work.

You can find it by opening Device Manager, look for sound, video and game controllers. Click on the plus sign next to it and it should list it.

To open Device Manager: Right click on My Computer. Scroll down and click on Properties. Then click on Hardware (XP) or just Device Manager (Vista).

If you still aren't sure, just tell me exactly what system you have, i.e. Acer Aspire 7520, and I will look for you and supply you with the link.

Hello,
I would suggest you check the BIOS if everything is detected properly. Like the hard drive and the memory. If both are working properly and being detected by BIOS properly, then you just might need to install your Windows 7 thru USB. You might need to use a different computer to convert your Win 7 OS DVD to USB installer.
1. Use a different computer w/ DVD 2. Use ISO software to convert the Win7 DVD to ISO 3. Download the converter from this link click here or directly from this link 4. Make sure you have an available USB Flash Disk that has a capacity of 4GB or higher. 5. Once you're done converting the Win7 DVD to an ISO file, use the tool above to convert the ISO file into a USB installer.
This will only work if your hard drive is properly detected. Bootmgr error means 2 things, either the hard drive is not detected or corrupted windows installation.
Hope this helps!

How to rip DVD and convert video between any video formats?

Read this guide and learn how to rip a DVD to all modern video formats and convert video between any video formats, including AVI, DivX, XviD (*.avi, *.divx, *.div), MPEG-4, H.264 (*.mp4, *.m4v), MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (*.mpeg, *.mpg), DVD (*.ifo, *.vob), Quick Time (*.mov, *.qt), WMV, WMV-HD (*.wmv, *.asf), 3GPP, H.263 (*.3gp, *.3g2, *.3gpp, *.3gp2), Real Video (*.rm, *.rmvb), SWF (*.swf) using AVS Video Converter from AVS Video Tools.

download.gif

This program has a very simple and intuitive interface. The "learning curve" is near zero. You will start working from the first launch. All you do is enter in the video or DVD to be converted, where you want it to be stored and the location of your CD/DVD Burner or Portable Media Device and the software does the rest. Just follow step by step instructions below:

Step1. Download AVS Video Converter
For more features about it, you can refer here.

Step2. Launch AVS Video Converter
Start > All Programs > AVS Media > AVS Video Tools > AVS Video Converter

Step3. Select Output File Type
Click the To AVI or To DVD or To MP4 or To 3GP or To MOV or To WMV or To RM or To SWF button along the top of the interface.
avs-video-tools-2.png
Step4. Choose Video File or DVD
Click the uppermost Browse button on the right. Navigate to the location where you keep your video files or DVDs, and select the video that you would like to convert. Click Open.
Note: When your input is a DVD Disc, you will need to select the path to your source file: X://Video_TS/Video_TS.IFO. "X" stands for your DVD-ROM or the hard disk drive folder where your DVD is stored.
It is important to select the IFO file, rather than VOB or VRO file, because the IFO file contains the information about the entire DVD structure and this way you will avoid audio and video de-synch problems when converting. Also, most DVDs have several VOB or VRO files (files with actual video) and if you convert VOBs or VROs instead of IFO, you will have to merge them afterwards, which is not the case with the IFO files.Anyway if you have only VRO or VOB files, select them. AVS Video Converter converts these files perfectly too.
avs-video-tools-3.png
Step5. Select the Output Location
Click the bottom Browse button on the right. Choose the location where you would like to save your converted video file. Click Save.
avs-video-tools-4.png
Step6. Select the Output Format Profile
In the list of Profiles select one of the available profiles or click Edit Profile button to manually set the output video profile parameters.
avs-video-tools-5.png
Step7. Convert Video
Click Convert Now and step away from the computer (processor performance will be seriously affected during conversion). If you want to watch the progress while you convert, click the Advanced button until the viewing screen pops out of the bottom.
avs-video-tools-6.png Besides this you can also refer to other tools such as blu ray ripper to get more information

Or you can visit dvd burning software to find some useful information about how to burn dvd to your pc.

I do hope these resources can help you. good luck to you!

Trying to put a wma/v video i downloaded from the internet onto a dvd+rw so i can watch on my dvd player. im lost

You need a software to do that. Install the software and follow the instructions to install, place a blank dvd in your drive, then open it, use the + to add the video and click convert, it will then convert it and burn it. Go to this link for the software...http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/

If you are using VBR this will sometimes cause audio synch error (especially on standalone player playback) use Gspot or Mediainfo to see what the file you are trying to convert is encoded in it will be either CBR or VBR.

Converting an avi file to a dvd format

You can use a program like CloneDVD to convert from an avi to a DVD format. Then after you do that you can use the same program and tell it to burn that dvd format to a regular dvd. Keep in mind that to convert files can take a few hours so keep this in mind if your doing something big like a movie. Make sure you have a dvd-rw in your computer to otherwise you can't burn to a regular DVD.
