For all users of ml 1640 whose looking to refill your cartridge and WANTING IT TO WORK after refilling, i have the permanent chip solution to help you. The chip is meant to be installed on the printer motherboard and the procedure is relatively simple. It overwrite the default setting of the printer which requires a toner with valid ic chip for printer to work, with the chip install, your cartridges can be reused over and over again and you can even use your 1610, 2010 cartridges on the 1640. Its a one time installation only, hence the name 'permanent'

Hi, we just got a chip for this model, it will work on ML-1640, ML1641, ML-2240, ML-2241, ML-2242 and ML-2245 this chip goes on the printer mainboard, it's a permanent one, never needs replacement , it will allow you to recharge the original demo cartridge , over and over again, if you need more info you can contact ma at nahmmacher@hotmail.com, thank you.

hey buddy, i too got the same problem with samsung 1640 ml, i took to the samsung serice center, they said they got the new software to reset the chip, and now my printer was done and working in a good condition. but they charged for it. hence i suggest u the same, or else search for the software online,,hope it works
