I have a Harman kardon 1700Avr that is stuck in protect mode, Is there anyway to bypass or reset it? Thanks....

It's in the protect mode because of a component failure inside. It needs to be repaired to get out of the protect mode.

Why does stereo say protect

Check if a speaker wire come off or some other wire, That will cuase it to go into the protect mode,Allso if you have a amp hooked up to it, End continully have the music cranked up the system will over heat ,That can cause it allso to go into protect mode, There is a reset button on the face plate but it is not marked,

My kenwood krf-v5300d overloaded? Stand by light flashes if pressed stops flashing if pressed again unit turns on but doesent pass start up and shuts off again havent managed to find a solution from bassic...

This unit is in what is called "protect" mode/ See the link below for an explanation of this. Specifically to your unit, the output components are unique to Kenwood and are not cheap. Further investigation to locate the reason for the protect mode will be necessary prior to any attempt to estimate the cost of repair. Something as simple as a missign voltage can cause this symptom.

Please feel free to update this with any other questions or concerns that you may have.

Need the 4 digit code for a kenwood vr-405 reciever with my kenwood rc-ro509 remote..stop working?

Hi,
Here are some remote codes for Kenwood Receivers.
The codes are as follows: One of them should work
0027, 0077, 0313, 0186, 0314, 0356

Here is a link to a web site that has universal codes for remotes.
http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-amp.shtml#amp

Hope this helps,
Best Regards,

My kenwood dts amp krf-v5050d will work for a bit then goes into stand-by mode

if the unit hasn't been worked on for a few years then chances are it has what's called "cold solder joints".......you need to have the boards re-soldered.......also, this problem could be caused by bad filtering capacitors that cause fluctuations from the power supply .....also can be caused by components overheating and so it shuts itself down to standbye mode to protect itself from further damage.....in any case...you need to have it looked at by pro's unless you know how to troubleshoot it yourself.....good luck

Kenwood vr 357 surround system stand ny light keeps blinking when turned on but no sound no nothing when turned on just powers up for 7 seconds then shuts off with light blinking

This means there is a problem with the system it is in the protect mode it will not come out of that mode untill repairs are made. More than likley the power amp is blown.

Cliks off when you turn up volume

This is an indication of protect mode. One thing to test here:

Does the unit shutdown only when you change volume? If you try turning up the volume really slowly, will the unit remain on?

Thanks,
Dan

Kenwood stereo synthesizer tuner t-85l

T-85L is a component of a hifi system not suposed to work alone. You have to connect it to another Kenwood component (an amplifier like the A85 ) through a special cable to power it on/off. The special cable can be used point to point or as daisy-chained.
