G614J processor upgrade

Hi there
the G614J is a Intel Celeron 450. which is a Socket LGA755 (this is the connector on the motherboard for a cpu, this is a deciding factor on what kind of cpu can be installed.)
Currently the LGA 755 socket is history, there are no cpus sold as NEW in the market that I can see, your only option is 2nd hand, like EBAY.com
I found a total of 7 cpus in ebay.
In my honest professional opinion it is not worth it to attempt to upgrade the cpu on your computer, consider buying a newer computer, used, or new.
I mean this stuff is trash,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-11-CPU-Intel-Pentium-4-2-8Ghz-521-LGA755-1M-800Mhz-SL9CG-/360517310223?pt=CPUs&hash=item53f081970f

that guy is selling 11 cpus for LGA775 socket for 50$ its few $ for one cpu.

Your current cpu has a front bus of 800MHZ you don't want to get anything lower than that, that is the only deal I found in ebay that wasn't slower than your current cpu.

I'd recommend you resell your old computer as is on ebay or similar and purchase a newer system.

Dell inspiron 530 mobo problem

Yes - both MOBO are same form factor.
You will need to remove the backplate (that is the part that surrounds the ports) from the case.
You will need to insert the backplate for the new MOBO in the case.

The CPU and RAM should be direct swap.

Ok i have a dell inspiron 530 with the g33m03 modo right now i have a intel pen deul core 1.6 what can i up grade too

Make sure that you have the correct mobo and not the g33m02 that dell ships with a duel core cpu's. If in fact you have the 03 model then you will need to upgrade your bios to the latest version from Dell and then you can go with a 45nm Quad core.

Again make sure you are running the correct mobo before you spend the money on the cpu and then cuss this post out that this guy said it will work when in fact the mobo does not support it.

Dell Inspirion 530. Will not turn on. I replaced the watch type battery and it came on. Went to use again and would not turn on.

check power cords. swap power cords from monitor to cpu. check the power supply if it is on. check cpu fan if spinning. check if power flea from mobo lit on. if all fails replace the power supply and mobo.

939 pin Athlon 64 X2 / Athlon 64 FX / Athlon 64 are the supported CPU's.
For the SLI connector, it's a 2 1/2 inch connector. (63.5mm).

I had cleaned my precision 530 workstation. After cleaning, the compuate doesnot load the BIOS. Even the fans are not getting switched on. But the light on the motherboard glows In the front panle the LED...

please make certain your memory chips are seated into the mainboard. Also, make sure that your mainboards power cable, and your CPU's power cable (the small yellow and black one) are secured to the board. If your components are secured to the board correctly, you may have an issue with the board, CPU, or power supply. If your pc is under warranty, I suggest you contact Dell for troubleshooting.

Adding second CPU

Hi

Did you receive a VRM with the the PRC upgrade kit? And have you installed it?

The following items are/should be included in a microprocessor upgrade kit:
• A microprocessor (PRC)
• A heat sink
• Heat-sink retention clip(s)
• A voltage regulator module (VRM),
Your upgrade kit may also include a cooling fan.

If you are adding a secondary microprocessor, examine the VRM to ensure that it is the correct VRM for your system. Install the VRM in the appropriate secondary VRM connector, ensuring that the latches at each end of the connector engage. If you received two VRMs with the upgrade kit, replace the primary VRM already installed in the system with one of the VRMs from the upgrade kit.
Note: The system does not support mismatched VRMs.

Yes, your mobo Asus P5LD2-VM support CPUs with Conroe-core ("Core 2 Duo"). http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=P5LD2-VM But for new CPUs strongly recommended use last BIOS version - 1401 from 2007/08/14. http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5LD2-VM/P5LD2-VM-1401.rar
