My sons ps3 was working fine until yesterday, he went to turn it on and although the normal lights come on it won't start up, he looks after it really well - it has had no knocks or overheated - any ideas what may be the problem thanks

Hi, Sounds like your browser setting are messed up. The privicy setting and/or security settings are set too high. Maybe thats why you can't get on FB. If your friend and son where playing a game online they need settings to be changed. Most games are like that. Hope that helps

Ps3 came on then the screen went red and said contact technical support. but now it is working fine what is this about

This is called the "PS3 Red Screen Of Death" it's the same as the 360's RROD. The best solution would be to contact Sony about it and they should resolve the issue.

Although if it is working fine, I would wait until happened again, since it could have just had a "stupid" moment.

PS3 can turn on, but T.V screen is black

turn power switch on in the back. red light on in the front, hold the power button until system turns back off. this resets all hardware settings. if this doesn't work and the system is ok (green light) then you have a connection problem to the tv

Cascading white craziness

First thing you should try is using the regular old AV cables. That way we know if it's an hdmi problem or a video problem with the PS3. Hook them up, do the manual video reset ( hold down the power button until you hear a second beep, quickly release) and then post back here with the results.

hold down the power button untill it beeps twice. about 3 seconds which should restart the settings to the default composite settings. from there you can change the settings back to hdmi or whatever you had them at before.
