Our Infoprint 1532 won't print out of Tray 1 and keeps insisting that we load MP Feeder paper to get it to print. We'd like to be able to print out of Tray 1 but we can't get it to take paper from there. The tray is full but its not feeding for some reason. I've checked the settings and its set to take paper from Tray 1 and not the MP Feeder.

Ok.... I have these printers at work...and i think i have figured this one out :
Under setup menu , goto configure mp , then switch the settings from cassette to manual. You see these printers are used at Hotels where the bottom tray is for legal size paper used to make key packets and the mp is used for regular sized paper printing reciepts....Hilton family hotels use them for example....the next thing I'm trying to figure out is how to set it so I won't have to push the go button every time I print something

I would suggest checking printer properties in the computer and ensure the paper size and source is Letter and set to Automatic Choose. Another choice may be to deleted the printer driver and re-install it. You can also go into the menu options until you get to Set factory defaults, press Select, then try the print job again.
I really suspect a program is controlling this from the computer.
To get a list of the existing printer settings, Select Menu and use the Right Arrow button until you get to Printer Menu Settings. The printed report should tell you what your actuall settings are. Maybe the default is set to Custom, instead of Letter.
The Set Factory Defaults option should fix most problems.

Automatic Document Feed (ADF) does not pick up paper. Follow each step, problem seems to be in pick assembly. Prcess took less than 5 minutes with a successful outcome.

do you feel it grab the paper if you help feed in the paper at the same time it is supposed to take it in or do you even hear the motor go that pulls the paper in ? or does it just go straight to saying load paper?
