Go to Start\Control Panel\System and click on the hardware tab. Do you see a device with a question mark listed as unknown device or audio controller? Here is the website, which should have the driver for our Biostar mainboard. http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en-us/mb/driver.php?S_ID=173
Under the heading onboard audio driver, download the driver for Win XP, then open it once it is finished installing. You will need to uncompress the driver package since it is a compressed file, but once that is done you should be able to install it using the setup.exe file. A good free decompressor is 7-zip, which you can find free here: http://www.7-zip.org/ Let me know if there are any other questions, etc.
Hi sgs182, when a driver fails to install correctly its best to install through windows device manager. Suggest you try this method of instillation before trying another HD audio driver. Also enter your bios & make sure the HD is enabled.
Either use the driver CD that came with the motherboard or download the driver from Biostar. Windows 2003 is more like window XP however we both know what you need is a driver for 2003. Biostar makes other P4M890-M7 motherboards that do support win 2003 for HD.
·P4M890-M7 TE 7.x ·P4M890-M7 SE 7.x ·P4M890-M7 PCI-E 7.1 ·P4M890-M7 PCI-E 7.0 ·P4M890-M7 FE 7.x
Biostar motherboards 7.0 & 7.1 audio drivers are the same file size of 24.77MB & support x86/2003 operating systems.

Left click once in the circle next to, Install from a list or specific location (Advanced). Than click the next button. Again, another window will open. We want to remove the green check mark next to, Search removable media (floppy, CD-ROM...). (Only if you do not want to install from the CD).
Click the green check mark once & it will go away.
Click the browse button, click the + sign next to my computer. Find the desktop folder
