If you could provide me with more info i may be able to help you. I need to know exactly what kind of video card you have. To find this out, right click on my computer and click properties. Then click on the hardware tab and then device manager. That will open the Device Manager window, where you need to click on the + that is next to Display adapters. Please comment with the video card that shows up under display adapters so that i can try and locate the drivers for you.

SOURCE: need help disableing onboard video, and installing PCIe video card.

Hi rebelel1271, I do have the manual for you're Intel motherboard. You can have it as well. Click on the link below to download you're manual. document.write("D101GGC Product Documentation & Manuals") D101GGC Product Documentation & Manuals
Intel states you do not need to make any bios changes when you add a PCI-Express video card. See this on page 17, PCI and PCI Express Auto Configuration. Before installing you're PCI-E video card, open windows controll panel. Than open add/remove programs. Look for the driver software for you're onboard ATI Radeon X200. Uninstall that software. (If listed). Close all opened windows & shut down windows. Unplug the power cord from the PC. Open the case. Install you're new ATI Radeon X800 PCI-E video card. Double check all internal connections, (In case you may have bumped loose any cables). You're X800 may also have a 3-pin or 4-pin male power connector built on the card. If so, plug power to the X800.

ATI's web site for the latest driver's.

A little information. Once you're PCI-E has been installed. You're system memory will increase.

Good Luck!
If I can help you further, feel free to post here.

How do I disable my onboard graphics on my Acer Aspire T160? I want to add an HD 512MB pci express graphics card.

Hi,

You can disable the onboard VGA card in BIOS, to do so
keep on tapping F2 button as soon as you hit the power button, under the CMOS search for VGA or onboard VGA and click Disable.

Thanks

Chaintech P35-121-16B9 need the manual or video jumper setting

Hi

Thank you for your query

Generally you dont need to disable the onboard VGA to AGP, all you need to do is to ensure that you plug the monitor lead into the AGP VGA card.

However if you wish to disable the onbaord VGA then please do the following

1) Ensure that the monitor lead is plugged into the onboard VGA card/port
2) Siwitch on PC then press F12, esc or del key to enter detup (When switching on there will be a message that says press X to enter setup)
3) This will present you with a blue BIOS screen, if yuo go through the menu there will be a option that says 'onboard/integrated peripherals'
4) choose that option and there will be a further option 'onboard VGA' this will be set to enabled. Set this to disabled and then save and exit
5) Note at this point you will have to move the VGA cable from the monitor from the back of the VGA prot to the AGP VGA card

I hope this has been helpful

I got a mircosoft update and not my machine wont boot up? I cant even get my bios to show up? thanks in advance

Everyone who has had the MS Autoupdate ON have fallen victim to some **** update that screwes up their PC/hardware.
The most common is motherboard failure thru some firmware updating the BIOS, Onboard sound driver chip firmware update, Network card driver/firmware update, VGA firmware update etc etc.....
all these **** updates are done so that MS can sell more genuin OS thru new sale of PCs HWs etc....as once ur MB/HD failes u have no option but to buy a new one discarding the old one.....all these are modern mkting techniques used by some reputed co like IBM/Compaq/HP/Dell etc along with MS as the main culprit....how do i know all these.....ha ha ha...
i am ex IBMr
u can fix it provide u format ur HD again...

When I plug my monitor into my video card i get "no input signal" yet if i plug it into the onboard slot it works.could my PCI-E slot be bad?

Did you add a video card? If you have an AGP slot, it is best to put the video card in it. If so you need to go into the Device manager. Remove, disable or uninstall the onboard VGA driver. Go ahead and remove the PCI video card driver as well. Power down PC. Make sure monitor is hooked up to the Video Card, not onboard VGA. Power on PC. When Windows loads, it should detect the VGA card first, but if it detects the onboard first, ignore and don't setup onboard first. When Windows detects the card, load the necessary drivers when prompted. There is no need to reinstall the onboard driver for the video unless you wish to hook up two monitors.

Can not start acer veriton 5600g with ati 1650 pro agp card ? The bios doesn't seem to recognise the card and it beeps when i disconnect the onboard vga. Any help will be appreciated... thanks

How did you disconnect the onboard VGA?
The onboard VGA device must be disabled in the BIOS and the ATI graphics card inserted in the computer.
When you bootup it should default to a standard Windows VGA configuration, then install the ATI video driver o you can get high resolution graphics.

ok I found the problem was that someone ie the person that threw this unit away really did not know enough as they had used some of the ram to support the onboard video and it wasnt until i looked at the setups that i discovered this so set all back to default settings and was then able to turn off the onboard video and turn on the agp card hope this helps someone sometime apparently this was done to overclock the onboard video silly bloke just threw away a good computer ha ha ha
