I bought a XL6000 from a friend and it came with Sew-Ware Conversion Tool software. I'm trying to load onto my laptop which has Windows Vista. I can't get it to come up. Do I have old software?

Did you get your problem solved? I, too, have Vista. I have the software loaded, but can't get the designs to transmit.

I have the same problem and can't find any help, Singer never answers the phone. Does anyone know what to do? The software loads but when I connect the usb, it won't recognize the drivers.

My laptop has Vista and my brand-new XL6000 came with the Sew-ware software, which won't even load -- I keep getting the message that the file was "unable to create a dialog" for every part of the software. I've been all over the internet looking for an upgrade or patch, but so far no luck.

I have the software loaded now, I've bought a USB to Modem Cable but still can't get it to transmit. I even bought a Smart Media Card and tried to save to the card and put the card in the reader on the machine. No luck. VERY FRUSTRATED.

To either transfer/transmit from a computer to the XL6000 or for the XL6000 to recognize/read a design card: The Embroidery attachment must be attached/installed on the XL6000.

I found the FAQ section very helpful. (I printed it out for future reference.)

My new computer doesn't have a CD drive and it has Windows 8. :( How can I download sew ware and is it even compatible? The computer that it is on now is ancient and about to die :(

Most new PCs don't have one but you can add one for cheap. Look for a USB 2.0 External CD-ROM, portable for laptop on Amazon. Bestbuy should have them as well.

Error message - design to big- use multiple hoop embroidery-won't transfer to my machine for a large design

If you can get the Buzz edit software there is an easy fix. Open the design in buzz edit. Under the view tab, show hoop properties and select xl6000 hoop. Then again under the edit tab select all. next under the buzztools tab rotate the design 90 degrees. This usually takes care of the problem, don't forget to save as copy. If it is still too large, shrink the design until you see it fit into the hoop on the screen. Don't shrink it more than 10percent or your stitches will be too cramped. Hope this helps. I use it all the time. Using this you can use designs up to 5.5 x 9 inches

The software and indeed the xl-6000 will not work with a 64bit system.I had the same problem.I bought a used laptop 32bit and windows xp and it works perfectly. You can get a serial/usb adapter to use with newer pc that doesn't have serial port, but you still need 32bit system.

Not sure if it will help, but you may need to download a patch for this to work, but perhaps you could try this webpage or you could try this one they are also very helpful at times, or perhaps you might consider joining this group they are very helpful.
