My turntable doesn.t work because the little plastic insert is broken.

Are you referring to the carousel ring under the glass tray? Or, are you referring to the turntable coupler in the center of the oven where the tray rests? Both these parts can usually be purchased on line at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

All these sites are reputable and have great service. Prices vary between them, so shop and compare. The first three sites I have listed include helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you in locating and properly identifying any parts you may need.

You do not see the turntable shaft in the center of the oven cavity rotating, you may actually have a turntable motor that has failed. The motor is attached to the center plastic piece (called a turntable shaft or coupler) under the middle of the glass tray. The following link explains how to access and replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3555716-replacing_a_turntable_motor_on_a_microwa

This is a very simple repair, that usually is not expensive. The price range will be determined by the model and manufacturer. This repair can also be performed on an over the range model microwave oven WITHOUT uninstalling it.
If you have any questions, or require additional assistance, please post back with your MODEL NUMBER. I hope you find this information helpful.

My turntable quit turning, I looked in and found a what appears to be a piece of what looks like glass that acts as a shaft between the motor and the turntable was broken. I cant find the part or any...

If you are talking about the little piece that the center of the tray sits on (not the carousel ring), its called the coupler. Its actually made of plastic on all the microwave ovens I've ever worked on. I've never seen one made of glass. It connects to the turn table motor shaft. If you post back with a complete model number, I may be able to assist you in locating a part number.

If the coupler is not physically broken, you may be identifying the wrong part as your problem. The turntable is driven by a small motor which is mounted under the bottom panel of the oven. The coupler is mounted to the shaft of the motor and the glass tray sits on the coupler.

Post back and let me know if you need a coupler, or if your motor isn't turning. You can tell by removing the glass tray and pulling straight up on the coupler. It should come off the motor shaft in one piece. If its not broken, your motor probably needs replaced.

Turntable wheel under glass tray broken

If the microwave comes with a roller ring to rotate the glass turntable then I would recommend that it needs to be used when the microwave is operating, as the turntable rotates the food so it can be heated evenly.

I would recommend checking with your local Panasonic repairer he may have access to a new roller or even a second hand one to tide you over.

Loud noise coming from turn table

I have the same problem my microwave is a kenmore this is the second one I've had and they both did it I solved the problem by re-seating the turn table however if you are skilled at taking things apart you can put a few drops of small motor lubricant on the spline it worked for me. good luck!
