Question about Philips 60PP9202 60" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
My friend bought a new TV due to the fact that his began to blur ~6" to 12" from the bottom. I'm going to drive over tomorrow and see if I'm willing to spend the amount he is asking for on it. I looked to see if anyone had a similar problem, and all I find is a typical convergance problem. However, the way he describes it (and from the not-so-good pictures he's shown me) it doesn't look like the same problem as that (and I'm also wondering why it is localized.)
Has anyone ever heard of this happening before? I have a lot of technical experience (limited with TVs however, but I am willing to attempt repair)

Thanks in advance,
This unit most likley has the typical 2 problems I have seen with this chassis. The fluid in the blue and green CRTs is contaminated with a fungus and needs to be changed out, and the convergence amps are bad along with a couple of resistors.I get thes units looking like brand new for about $275.00.I however do not reccomend changing the fluid in the CRTs unless you know what you are doing.
