Question about GPX PD708B Portable DVD Player
Looks like several people have this problem. I downloaded a copy of the
manual to see if it had any hidden secrets, but no luck (I don't have
one of these).
This thing has a couple of modes (DVD or A/V input) that you switch between by pressing and holding the STOP/DVD/AV button in until it switches. Try switching the mode a couple of times. Maybe the thing is expecting external audio.
Other than that there doesn't seem to be any cause other than a defective unit. These things are made in such quantity and at such low cost that there will always be duds. If they are still within the return period where you bought them, then take them back for exchange and test them at the store. If you can't do that, contact GPX at the phone number or website about replacing it.
(I personally don't buy GPX for the simple reason that their stuff has problems sometimes. I went through 3 CD boomboxes once and swore never again for this brand.)
