HOW TO RESET THE LAMP HOURS
SOURCE: Toshiba TDP D2 Projector
A mirror got loose in the opening from where the bulb sends the light to the "panel" It is blocking part of the light.
I'm not talking about one of the tiny mirrors that makes up the DLP, but there is silver box where the bulb light initially goes. the walls are lined with mirrors whose adhesive fails when exposed to great heat.
I can easily fix it, as i have fixed many of them from this problem.

Not positive, but I would assume the same as my Toshiba.

Supposedly the lamp has a chip that keeps track of the used time. The manual says to check in the instructions that came with the lamp. Others say that LG will not reveal how to do it. Perhaps you could ring LG service and give them your machine serial number and request that as the owner you want the correct information.
