Try obtaining a firmware update for your CD or DVD Rom drive and maybe even a bios update for your computer.

Offline NT Password & Registry Editor this is freeware that can be download, after downloading it you will need to burn it to disk, after that insert it in to your cd rom and start press f12 select your dvd/cd as your boot device. instruction are here http://www.pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

I get an error 4280 when I attempt to burn an audio cd

Apparently a common error; if you google error 4280 you'll get several different versions of what is happening. Some blame the Sony CD's other blame Dell, HP, etc...like I said there is a long list so I didn't want to pick out just one, it depends on your Computer type, combined with the CDs..so go ahead and take a look. Personally from reading some of the fixes I came up with; don't use Sony disc and run at 16x to get rid of the error. Hope this helps..

I keep getting cancelled CD burns off of iTunes and Windows Media

I had that error befor I was burning with Memorex's 52x CD-R... when I switched to a Maxell's CD-R, the error was gone! And I left the burn speed at 'maximum'. It did it in about 4minutes. Good luck!

Error 2131 cant burn cds

Hi,
you have to download a firmware update for your cd/dvd drive.

  1. Go to Control Panel->System->Hardware and write down the model of your drive.
  2. Click this ->LINK<- and select your country
  3. On the next page select 'DVD recorder' from the list.
  4. On the next page select your model #
If your model is not there, post the model # here and I'll look into it further.

Philip

My acer extensa 5620z has just started to shut itself down and restart today. It has done this about 5 or 6 times now in the last hour. The last time I started it up (after powering off), it had sat and...

well its an overheating issue

looks like there is no air current going inside your laptop so its one of two issues

either you are putting the laptop on some soft area (like bed or sofa).

or (and thats what i think it is) the fan is not working properly or maybe not working at all.

so check the fans because if it is the fan then its normal you will have your computer restarting and shutting off once every 15 minutes range because the CPU is overheating and it should shut down to prevent CPU from getting damaged.

let me know what happened with u
