I have a Panasonic DMC-TZ1 that I can't get the flash to go off on. The only flash setting that works on my camera is no flash setting and the icon for the no flash symbol appears white. The rest of the settings such as automatic flash with red-eye, and automatic flash, ect... are red. Is this a settings issues or a repair issue? If it is a repair issue could you tell me what on the camera needs to be repaired. Weather it be the LED light is broken or a resistor or transistor on the circuit board that needs to be changed. I believe I can fix the problem myself if I knew where to begin. I can't find any blogs or questions about this problems fix on the web. Can you help me?
There is a Force Flash setting on this camera I believe. Force Flash means Always Flash(on). If this does not work, then flash is burned out I would guess.
The TZ1 has been replaced by the smaller, newer and nicer wide angle TZ3 and latest TZ5. Consider selling you defect TZ1 to a repair person on ebay, and buy you a good used, refurb, or new TZ3 or 5. Prices are very good, and your is worth about $25 to $30 with all accessories that came with it.
