You might need to replace the keyboard. It should be a fairly inexpensive fix for a computer shop.

Try unistalling the touchpad driver, and reboot. The machine will find the touchpad and reinstall the driver automatically. These have a tenancy to glitch when using an external mouse, and this should clear it up. Let me know.

Do not check the check box as leaving the touchpad enabled while using an external mouse will not cause any harm.

Go into your windows device manager.
Search for your touchpad (should call synaptics input device)
give it a right click and disable the device.

I rather think that your mainboard is having problems, tried a bios upgrade and the latest drivers yet?

My latop mouse is lock.please i need a help

so your touchpad\button mouse wont work? try to plug in one of those old mouses or usb mouses. If you don't want to use those all the time, try to temporarily use one while fiddling with the touchpad\button mouse settings in the control panel.

I think I clicked on the button that says Lock this Computer. and now my mouse is not moving. How do i fix this problem?

Firstly, Try a hard restart (Just hold down the power button until it shuts off)

If you mouse is still not working, you will have to use a external USB Mouse.

After a while, when this happend to me and I had used the USB mouse for about a week, the touchpad mouse started working again.

But, while you have the USB mouse plugged in, try searching online for a driver for your touchpad.

Asus 10065ha xp both touchpad and external mouse not working touchpad went first. then worked with external mouse. then only touchpad. now both not working.

Unplug your external mouse and restart your laptop. Check to see if the touchpad works, if it doesn't reinstall the driver. Unplug all other USB devices and plug your mouse back into a different USB port. It should be detected now. Cheers, Ravi Shanghavi

My acer notebook right click wont work. can you fix it? thanks

Re-installed your Touchpad driver.By default,it shoud work otherwise use an external USB mouse and check your Right-Click. If it work then the notebook Right Click Touchpad mouse has some faulty.

I think you won't be able to find spare in any sites even Manufacturer sites, you have to carry on with an external USB Mouse.

I have found the same problem while my touchpad is enabled. No matter how much I try, I end up moving characters as well. My solution is to use an external USB wireless mouse, and having the touchpad disabled automatically when the mouse is used.

Go to Control Panel > Mouse Properties >Elantech
Click the Disable when external USB mouse plug in check box.
Hit Apply, then Ok

Try an external mouse and if that works your touchpad is bad and needs to be replaced.

Touch pad possessed.

To turn off the touchpad when an external mouse or other pointing device is present, you can goto the Control Panel and double click the Mouse properties icon.

Click the Device Select tab and check "Disable Touch Pad when USB Pointing Device is present." The cursor will no longer move via the touchpad.

Alternatively, you can permanently disable the touchpad of your laptop by clicking the "Disable Device" in the Touch Pad setting. Advanced users can disable the touchpad from the BIOS setup [press F2 when the computer is booting to enter BIOS settings]

For extra USB ports, purchase a USB hub($15 -$20). That way you can add at least 4 USB ports to your laptop.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
