You will probably need to locate a factory remote for the internal options. most of the generic remotes wont do the appropriate programing

I need to know how to reset lamp timer please thank you

Hi ttwildman,

Plug the TV into the outlet. Press power button on the display. Next, press the Volume minus button on the display and, hold down the 0 button on the remote for 5 seconds. You should see on the display a message saying, "Lamp time was reset to zero, Return." Select appropriate entry on the remote to return to normal screen. If done right the lamp indicator light will go out. That is pretty much it. You can download the instruction here, "Panasonic PT-52LCX66." Additional information under can be optained by selecting, "View with PicLens." If you have any questions just post a comment and, I'll try respond quickly.

You mean physically replace the lamp or reset the lamp timer?

To replace the lamp, you unplug the TV, take the front cover off of the TV under the screen, open the little door, unscrew a screw, then pull a handle that will pull out the entire lamp assembly.

Shove the new lamp assembly in place, reattach the screw, shut the door, snap the panel back on, and fire it up.

To reset the lamp timer you have to have your TV remote (not a universal - the original remote). Turn the TV on and wait for the lamp timer reset message to disappear or push Exit on the remote (or any button similar to exit, depending on the model).

Then, simultaneously press and hold the VOL- button on the TV and the PIP button on the remote at the same time (usually near the bottom left of the remote). On some models it is the SPLIT button instead.

IRT the other answer, there are more than one type of rear projection television. The one's you have seen with three lamps are CRT-based and have one CRT for each primary color of red, green, and blue. Panasonic no longer makes these and any issues with the lamps must be referred to an authorized servicer. Therefore, I conclude in this case that the question is in reference to a DLP or LCD rear projection display.

Unable to reset Lamp Hour Meter on Panasonic PT-50LC14

Try this, using the Panasonic remote, wait until the notice about your lamp goes AWAY (it wont work with the message still up).
Hold the volume down on your tv while holding the split/play button on the remote.
You will get a notice about 4-5 seconds later that it was reset.

How to reset the meter of lamp

You need to have your Panasonic remote.
1. Make sure the power cord is plugged into a properly grounded outlet and turn on the set with the power button on the projection unit or the remote control.

2. While holding down the (VOL -) key on the projection unit press the PIP or SPLIT key at the same time. Hold it for longer than 5 Seconds. The PIP or SPLIT key is model specific:

PIP for Models:
PT-50LC13/PT-60LC13/PT-50LCX63/
PT-60LCX63/PT-43LCX64/
PT-50LCX64/PT-60LCX64

SPLIT for Models:
PT-43LC14/PT-50LC14/PT-60LC14

3. When the unit resets the lamp timer it will display a screen on the TV indicating it was reset to zero. You press recall on the remote to exit.
