Fan vibration I will appreciate if anyone can help me with this. The fan in my drive is vibrating very loudly. How can I fix this? Do I need to replace the fan? I couldn't find a suitable replacement. Are there other options?

Re: Fan vibration

Check it's not dust thats causing the imbalance, give it a hoover out, other than this it will be the bearing that's gone and probably not worth replacing.

Sabrent ECS-U35K Hard Drive Enclosure AC Adapter repair

I would sure enjoy helping you figure your problem. I've taken Electronic courses in the Navy and in college, so this shouldn't be too hard.
As far as the capacitor goes, manufacturers make several different products from the same PCB layout, just some don't have all the components. Once I see where the capacitor should be I can tell you if its necessary or not.
For the fuse, it sounds like there is a short somewhere further in the circuitry. Rather surprised it blew right off the bat, but people and machine alike can make mistakes when building things. I fixed a laptop power supply where they didn't even solder the source resistor for the switcher.
Upload your pictures, and we shall we what we can do with it!

Files disappearing on external hard-drive (nexstar.3)

In this case you should use data recovery software to try recovering the files and data, provided those lost data are not fully overwrtten.

Be careful: Before your files are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the external in case the original files are overwritten.

Hard Drives not read

the problem which i feel is
1 not enough wattage of power supply required wattage is 500w
2 PUT ONE DRIVE ON SATA 1 AND run the comp
3 then remove this hd and put another one and run comp
see if it detects as drive both times
choose sata 3 and sata 1 for both the drives, one sata 1 and other sata 3
since both would be master this time your problem may be rectified

if both the drives have same firm ware , the drives will report this error permenantly .

last try can be done to remove pcb of the drive and clean the contact surfaces of firm ware and motor supply area. this will solve your problem too. you may notice some dry burned surface on the firmware contact areas.

Won't function

Firstly it sounds as if the drivers aren't loading properly, right click on your drive (right click my computer> properties> hardware> device manager). Look for your external drive, rightclick and click update driver and force it to look in your cd for driver files. Secondly make sure you are connecting to a USB2 port, as it may not recognise the hardrive.
