Dc7900 -- have the same problem with two different monitors, so it seems to be the video card. The screen will randomly go black for a second and then the screen image reappears. Users have seen this happen in Excel, Explorer and Firefox.

Problem with screen(LCD monitor), no problem with your system. replace it

nvdia 6600 requires a minimum of 450 Watts of power to ensure that everything works properly. So if you want to continue using your nvdia card, an upgrade will be necessary.
If you want to test to see if it is the nvidia card, you need to remove the card physically from the system, then boot with the onboard video. This action will eliminate any conflicts between the two video cards. Before doing this you may need to go into device manager and make sure the onboard video card is not disabled.

HI,
You can go into the BIOS , under onboard devices. Change the primary video controller to PCI.
refer to the following screen
http://supportapj.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim4700/sm/syssetup.htm#wp1052347
If the cards are not detected on the board. Then the problem could be of the PCIe slot .
Thanks

Depending on the OS you are running. Check to make sure that the device drivers were installed correctly while plugged in to the on board.
To do this on Windows:
open Device Manager by right clicking My Computer and clicking properties. From there you can click Device Manager (if on XP click on Hardware Tab).
Once there, you should see a selection that reads Display Adapters
If it is installed correctly it should look like the one above (substituting in the ATI card)
If you see it and it has an ! or flag you need to update or install the drivers which you can get from http://support.amd.com/us/psearch/Pages/psearch.aspx?type=2.4.1&product=2.4.1.3.37&contentType=GPU+Download+Detail&ostype=&keywords=&items=20
Hope this helps
