There is a cam on the underside inside the case with a screwdriver adjustment that allows you to adjust this.

Picks record ,clicks twice ,returns record without playing

Mechanism for moving arm over and onto record is fubar. Probably stuck and the clicks you hear are the motor fighting a losing battle and returning arm to rest mount.

Remove stylus and play with arm and simulate turn on cycle to see how it works and where the jam is- fix and then put stylus back in - those little suckers are expensive.

How do I adjust the arm when it won't go to the end of the record?

Usually, the arm won't reach the end of the record when the arm pivot or auto-return mechanism requires lubrication.

Why does my Memorex 2650MMO turntable shut off after 20 seconds of recording?

The tracking is way off. Start it with the arm cued and see if it does the same thing. If there is no concentric motion moving the needle towards the center post, then the issue is the tracking. There is a sensor that tells when the arm has reached the end of the record.

The turntable turns and the arm lands on the record but then it moves back to rest on it's base and shuts off. What's wrong?

The auto reject/auto return switch setting has been shifted. It needs to be readjusted possibly at a specialist repair shop. It's the small lever that trips when the pick up reaches the correct end of the record run out grooves.

I've recently picked up a Pioneer Plx-88z turntable second hand. I know that the player is working ok as putting the arm on the record plays music. The problem is that after a few seconds, no matter what,...

Hi, if it's a second hand device. there must be something wrong with the arm at it's moving axe. if something (dust or broken support) is blocking it, it will return automatically to its rest position to avoid any damage to the fragile and sensible "head"

Tone arm ejects before reaching the end of a record

You need to get a service manual for the turntable and see how to adjust the tonearm. Sometimes there is a screw that needs to be adjusted by the tonearm. It may have a rubber cap covering it.

Record will not play to end.

There is a mechanism underneath the deck which senses "end of record". This is operating too early and will require adjustment.

Turntable does not rotate when switched 'on'.

K, I'm not familiar with that particular stereo unit but there were a lot of stereos from years gone past that used a turntable made by BSR. When you activate the switch to start the turntable listen closely to the record platter for a hum or possibly the sound of a motor turning (they're quite quiet). Is the switch lever you pull rectangular made of black plastic, you pull it towards you one click to start the record and pull it one step further (spring loaded) to make the tone arm lift from the record automatically? Just want to make sure I'm talking about the right turntable before we continue.
