Did it ever work? Was it working and then stop working? Did you push the correct input on remote. The problem could be the board inside t.v. In U.S.A. we don't have that on our teleivisions and I don't have any diagrams for euopia sets. Sorry can't be more help. Are you French? Always try to give as much information as possable when posting. Good-luck, If not a setting with remote, or bad cable, try unpluging power for 5 minutes. If still not working, problem inside T.V. is my best guess. Good-Day.

Tv no sound and making a knocking noise after putting a scart lead in and then out again

Could you see any bent pins on the scart connector? By applying undue force, the pins can get sometimes bent and touch some other on its side.

Hi, sorry but Most LG's no longer have audio outputs. The easiest way to get it ,You need to take the audio output from the source i.e. "cable box output"..if you have of course...
However whether your TV has this output or not we need to make some tests..5 different connections possibilities provided below.
(not by can start with any of it ).Below ,there is a sample TV back panel picture as well
1) 2x RCA ports red / white is audio out ( L + R ) of TV to Stereo..
2) You can get also the audio digital output from the TV to a A/V receiver. the tv's optical audio out is stereo only mainly designed for freeview or tv audio to be output,
set the audio ouput on the TV menu to Dolby Digital, connect a digital optical out directly to the A/V receiver to receive audio signals.
3) since your TV has :2 x HDMI, SCART, AV, Component Video, VGA-sub, USB 2.0, connections, you may use the SCART plug to get Audio output for your TV .
TV's SCART connector which has 21 pins and "2x Audio Output " pins should be in it.
you need to buy an adapter called " RGB Scart Male to 3 RCA AV Female Adapter Converter" that can easily be found any electronic example as found eBay URL is below..
After you get this adapter, you need to carry the audio signal from SCART's RCA plugs to your Receiver with a 2x RCA (white/red ) cable.(if this does not work ,mfg should state somewhere in the your TV's "SCART socket IN only" ) if you properly connect IN/OUT plugs you will able to get the audio signal of the TV thru stereo..I recommend 2 $ value "RGB-Scart-Male-3-RCA-AV-Female-Adapter-Converter" with IN/OUT switch on it.
4) use HDMI connection of TV if you have HDMI input on your stereo of course...
5) if these are not an audio-out on one of these connectors , so you'll need to use the headphone socket if you want to plug it into a stereo. you need a cable 2x RCA to 3.5mm Headphone jack.
( This is the last ditch solution , since it mutes the whole sound.) ..
NOTE: if you connect this, pls be careful, your TV voice level will drive the stereo volume....

Hope this helps!..if more help requires Would you please let me know the result ?
Take care and please

How do we hook up a Wii to the Sanyo DP42740 TV?

Hi Amy,

I cant see any specific connections for your tv but the end of the cable from your wii will have either a 21 pin sc"scart" connection or 3 plugs,(red, white and yellow) Look about on the back of the tv for corresponding socket. There should only be a couple of choices for each. Then simply plug it in. There will be no tuning or anything to do as these are direct connections. On your tv remote look for a button which will display or select the direct inputs. May look like a small screen shape with an arrow pointing into it, or may say "ext" or similar.
Hope this has been helpful

I would imagine the level is too high. Does your loop amplifier not have a sensitivity control?
You could come out of the scart socket but check for a headphone volume control first!

The connection standard requires that the pins are utilised in the following manner:

Hope this is useful.

scart.gif PIN USE LEVEL / IMPEDANCE 1 Audio Output (R) 0.5V / 1K-ohm 2 Audio Input (R) 0.5V / 10K-ohm 3 Audio Output (L) 0.5V / 1K-ohm 4 Audio Ground -------------------- 5 Blue Ground -------------------- 6 Audio Input (L) 0.5V / 10K-ohm 7 Blue 0.7Vp-p / 75ohm 8 Status (CVBS) L:0-2V H:10 - 12V / 10K-ohm 9 Green Ground -------------------- 10 Data D2B (Inverted) -------------------- 11 Green 0.7Vp-p / 75 ohm 12 Data D2B -------------------- 13 Red Ground -------------------- 14 D2B Ground -------------------- 15 Red 0.7Vp-p / 75 ohm 16 RGB Status/Fast Blanking L:0-0.4V H:1-3V / 75 ohm 17 CVBS Video Ground -------------------- 18 RGB Status Ground -------------------- 19 Composite Video Output 1V / 75 ohm 20 Composite Video Input 1V / 75 ohm 21 Case Shield ---------------------

New toshiba tv connect to sky plus box and perfect picture but no sound

The first thing to do is check the connections between the Sky box and the TV. If you are using a SCART cable, it's possible that one of the pins in the SCART plugs has bent or become detached from the wire inside. If you have another SCART cable from a VCR or DVD player, try switching them over.

If this doesn't work, or if you are using another connection method between the Sky box and the TV, please post back and I will try to assist you further.

Background telly noise

This is a very common problem caused by poor design of the SCART system which allows cross-channel feedback.

At the TV rental company I worked for we cured it by supplying "cut" SCART leads; usually these leads are completely reversible, but on a cut lead one end is designated only for the TV.

They are commercially available and easily identifiable as one plug will be labelled "TV" and the other as "video" or you can make your own using one of the generic cheap SCART leads which allow you to open the SCART plugs to access the wires:-

Open the plug and identify pin 20. They will have moulded numbers, but pin 20 is the one which is in the angled corner of the plug. The wire should usually be pink, if it is green then check pin 19 which is directly above pin 20. If this wire is pink then cut it. If the pink wire was on 20 then label the plug as being for video/Sky, and if it was on 19 then it's must be labelled for TV. Now do the other plug, whatever the order of the pink and green wires on pins 19 and 20 was on the first plug will be reversed. Cut the pink wire again. If the colours don't match then just cut the wire from pin 20 (video/Sky) at one end and from pin 19 (TV) at the other end.

Reassemble everything and plug it all in correctly and your problem should be fixed.

On a slightly different matter, never waste money on over-expensive "upgraded" SCART leads. They may look good but you're just flushing money down the toilet.

I hope that this has solved your problem, all that I ask in return is for you to take a moment to rate my answer.

Bought a new 42' flat - "No Program or Weak Signal"

Hi,you have not said weather you are using a scart lead(euro connecter)or an RF lead,if you are using the later don't,please connect the vcr to the tv via the scart to scart euro connecters, use a good quality scart lead(the thicker the better)as the thicker ones generally are 21 pins connected meaning it should be auto switching so as soon as you play a tape it will come straight on.
