Question about Heating & Cooling

3 Answers

I suspect my ripple control receiver type ro3 is faulty.Sometimes of late i've been left with no hot water in the morning.I assumed that the pulsing for off peak overnight didn't happen so i have been manually switching the "override/test" switch. This generally will give me hot water in a few ours then the switch/relay resets to "off".I tried this "quick fix" this morning and after about 2 minutes the relay turns off.We have had regular thunder storms in the area which could cause false "triggering" of off peak pulsing.Could this have "fried" the unit? Is this model a "lemon" ? Should I upgrade it to the 5000 model?I await your expertise. Bruiser

The thunder storm can really cause this type of problem and can fry your unit that's why its acting this way now, so i recommend to you better upgrade to the 5000 model for your convenience also...

Sounds like the front side tempeture door actuator is faulty.
You can take it to a good repair shop and have the HVAC controller scanned for codes. It may help in diagnosis, but I would suspect the actuator.

Hope that helps.........

Water still trickles in after the entire wash cycle is completed

Check the flow meter first. The flow meter has a reed switch on the side of it. Sometimes this switch fails and doesn't respond to the magnetic wheel inside the flow switch. It is suppose to provide a pulse action as the wheel turns. The CCU interprets these pulses to determine flow rate. Just because the wheel inside the meter turns, does not necessarily mean the reed switch is functioning.

Why does cold water mix with the hot when the switch is set on hot

Depending on the age of the unit you may be looking at a faulty switch. Sometimes the contacts for the cold water solonoid on the switch may be fused shut and therefore you will always get cold water no mater what you select. If hot water is what you need the easy way to do this is select hot water and close the tap for the cold water until needed again. Hope this helps

Hello, I have an whirlpool machine AWM 6105 and this morning when I started the washing program it gave me FH error. I stop it and start again and it worked. what thoes this error means? can you give...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

'FH' for Whirlpool decodes as 'no water fill'. Providing that the taps are fully on, the hoses are not kinked or squashed, I suspect this is symptomatic of a malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, and the cold one if it is just cold fill!
Sorry but it needs replacing and a service call to confirm that it is not something else ;-0(

Also do you need a manual? I have to assume that most manuals have the decodes in them.
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount. During the process you will be asked for the actual model number!
Good luck,
John C

Intermittent water flow interupted by solenoids pulsing

I've got the same problem. If I pause the cycle, wait about 10 seconds, and then resume, the water starts normally. I suspect the Cold Water Inlet Solenoid is sticking, probably due to water sediment in the solenoid causing it to stick. I'll try cleaning it and then replace if that doesn't help and let you know what happens.

Water will not enter my Frigidaire front loader washer

More than likely, there is a part of the connection wich you can unscrew and inside you should find a wire screen type filter there. Assuming you're talking about a used washer, it probably just needs cleaning, wich you can do with a toothbrush or something like that once a month or so.

Candy Nova CN126T - No hot water

hi This control panel switch regulates the temperature of the water in the tub. It also plays a role in controlling the fill cycle. If you suspect this switch is faulty, remove it and take it to a professional service person for testing (the test takes special equipment). Or, hook a test wire across the switch terminals; if water flows, the switch is faulty. If the switch is faulty, replace it with a new one of the same type. Connect the new switch the same way the old one was connected.
If there's a problem with both water temperature and tub filling cycles, both the temperature switch and the timer may be faulty. Test both components and replace them as necessary. Procedures for testing the timer can be found below.
