Moved TV to a different room and the TV power button is blinking like it is in "standby" mode. How do I get it off "standby" mode??????

unplug it for about 30 mins it will reset it. if that doesnt work it will be stuck in standby mode until a video source is activated. if you are using hdmi both the tv and the hdmi device must be on. (hdcp compliant devices must be turned on at the same time otherwise it will say stuck in stand by mode they do this to prevent people from trying to rip content off hdmi and blu rays had the same issue with my tv and xbox.

I have a 19" phillips lcd tv and when i turn the tv on the phillips screen comes up but when it is going the show the channel it shut off by itself how can i fix this problem?

Hello. I may be able to assist you. If you are using a direct cable connection from the wall outlet;
  • Check the incoming cable or antenna signal connection to ensure that it is properly secured to the TV's antenna input.
  • If the connection is good, perform the automatic installation again to search for all available channels.
If you are using a coaxial connection from the Cable or Satellite box to the TV;
  • Set the TV to the channel specified by the service provider.
  • Change the channels at the Cable or Satellite box to view the program.
If you are using a video connection (CVBS, S-Video, YPbPr, HDMI) from the source (DVD, Cable or Satellite box) to the TV;
  • You do not need to perform automatic installation to search for the channels.
  • Press the 'SOURCE' 071218044349_22024.gif button on the remote control repeatedly to select the correct input source.
If you are using an HDMI connection from the source (DVD, Cable or Satellite box) to the TV;
  1. Reset the TV and source by unplugging it from the power outlet for 30 seconds.
  2. Turn on the TV and press the play button on your source device. If the source is HDMI CEC compliant, the TV will automatically switch to the HDMI input.
  3. If your source is not HDMI CEC compliant, turn on the TV and switch to the HDMI input.
  4. Turn on your source.
If you are sure you have selected the correct input or channel but still have no picture or sound;
  • Try resetting the TV by unplugging it from the power outlet for 30 seconds.
  • Press the 'SOURCE' 071218044349_22024.gif button to select the correct input source.
  • Check the connection cables.
  • Try the connected source with another TV.
  • Connect a different source on the same connection of your TV.

My maxent TV has no picture and no sound

If an LCD TV has sound but no picture do the following:

Use the source button to ensure that source is not set to the wrong input.

Try unplugging power cord for ten minutes, to ensure it is not a setting problem.

Check all the video cables at the back of TV.

Check Light /Color settings.

If problem persist and does not depend on external receiver or settings, then it is likely an internal fault.

If it has sound but no picture then one of the following parts is faulty, and must be tested and replaced:

The inverter is the high voltage board that provides variable power to the backlight lamp. This is the most common. When inverter is faulty you can get no picture, or a very dim picture that can only be seen by pointing a torch light with a 45 degree angle on the LCD surface from very near distance.
The inverter must be tested by reading voltages with a multimeter.

The LCD ribbon cable/LCD display and connectors.
This is quite uncommon, but happens. If the TV had been hit or moved the LCD cable may have slipped out, or the LCD connector may be damaged.

The LCD controller board.
This is the board that controls the video signal, it is difficult to test, as there is need to read determined values on IC pins. To test this board you need to purchase a service manual and follow the troubleshooting diagrams on service manual.

Input/Output Signal boards.
This are the boards where you connect the video and audio cables, if a signal board is defective, then you may get no picture on particular inputs located on faulty board.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual.

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

My W3201C 32" LCD TV made a loud popping noise when I turned it off. Now it will not turn on. No power. No LED light.

That would be your transformer popping and dieing. Usually the popping is followed by a burning smell which is a good indicator that the part is unrecoverable. The cost of the part is variable based on the make and model TV and is usually not too labor intensive to replace. If not under warranty, let the repair gut know that you know what the problem is. Then, ask them to quote the cost of the replacement part and part number. Then ask them to quote you their hourly rate and get a time estimate. Then, google the part number and see if the cost is reasonable.

Samsung LN46A580P6F LCD HD TV It is not hooked up to a PC, just satellite. The screen is black and the power light is blinking continuously. It makes a "click" sound, ever minute or so, as...

The problem is most likely your power supply. The easy way to check is to pull the back cover off (make sure the tv is unplugged) an check the capacitors on the power supply board. If they are bulged or appear to be leaking anything then replace them with the same rated and size capacitors. My LG did the same thing. Local repair shop said I would need over $80.00 in parts alone. I got them for less than $12 (I ordered extras) from Digi-key. Replaced the bad with good and tv works like brand new. If you are unsure if you can handle it do a youtube search for samsung or replacing a capacitor and you will see how easy it is to fix.

Our newly purchased Toshiba - REGZA 42" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV has a fuzzy "snowy" picture. Direct TV is our satelite provider.

First check if this happens in other external video source as well, like DVD/CD/VCR, etc. If it does, get the set replaced under warranty.

If it happens only with the Direct TV setup, try unplugging the set top box from both power supply and TV. Wait about a minute and reconnect. If the problem is rectified, the issue is with the setop box. Call Direct TV in this case.
