My package was left on the front step but wasn'st here when I got Home why was this left on my front step?

    How could some running a Gateway Corpperation be so incompadent to send a package with no notifacation or requiring a signature? I can't even talk to anyone with the ability to explain the status of this issue! Call me 504812-2870

    The lady down the street gave me the package and I returned it with the return lablel. There is no longer a problem. So you see there's no more reason to email me any more.

I think that's something that you need to take up with the Outlet you purchased it from, as they specifically deal with a certain courier to guarantee a safe delivery. You can also go straight through to the Courier who were responsible for delivering it, but I reckon you'll be going round in circles if there was no proof that the delivery driver attempted to leave a note through your door, as this is what they are supposed to do if a delivery cannot be made. Then it would be upto you to either of Arranged a Re-delivery date or collect it ftom their depot.

    Just seems like it's your word against theirs when it actually comes to prooving that the delivery driver was thick enough to leave something of value outside your premises.
    Your obviously aware that it was delivered, so I guess someone must of seen this driver leave empty handed? 
    Also like you say, the driver would be required to take a signature for goods delivered, so obviously he's gonna need to explain why he's not got one, unless of course he's signed for it himself and tried to pull a fast one against you.

Simple solution:

Situation
There is a yellow exclamation mark for CD/DVD drives in Device Manager. The device status in the properties of the driver might indicate an error code, for example 32, 37, or 39. Or the drive simply does not appear in My Computer or Device Manager.

Solution

To solve the issue, you have to edit the Windows Registry:
Click Start, then Run, type REGEDT32 and click OK.
Locate and then remove the following registry values:

Dell unstick power button on PC desktop


It sounds like either the push button assembly is broken on the front bezel cover, or the power switch is broken. Follow these steps to take the covers off.

Where to find the reset button on my packard bell pc hard drive




Click on the "Start" button and input "Recovery" into the search box. Click on "Recovery Manager."


Click on the "Advanced Options" button when the Windows recovery manager appears. Choose the "System Recovery" option from the list and click on "Next."

Click "No" to decline using the Microsoft system restore and click "Next." Note that HP computers have their own restore system.

Click on "Back up your files first (recommended)." Click on "Next." Follow the instructions given to you by the recovery manager for backing up your files.

This is your opportunity to back up any important or original files before you reset the HP computer to its original settings.

Save these files to removable storage devices such as DVD disks, CD disks, alternative hard drives (that you are not performing a system reset on) or flash drives.

Click on "Next" when the screen reads "Recover without backing up your files." Note that after you proceed with this step, you will lose any and all information on your Hard Drive that you did not back up.

Restart your computer after it has finished the recovery procedure. Visit the HP Support and drivers website and click on the option that says "Download drivers and software (and firmware)." Enter your computer model number (find this on the front of your tower) and press "Enter."

Download the most recent drivers and save them on your desktop. Double-click the driver package and follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers.

Insert your removable storage device that contains the files that you backed up. Copy the files to the appropriate places on your hard drive.

front or back? could be if the front ones are not working a driver isusse or if you have been inside the computer then there are 4 wires that connect it to the motherboard if one or 2 have been dislodged itwould stop them from working
step one go the bottom left of the screen click for the small box step 2 right click on computer and go to the new page step 3 click on device managwer its at the top of this new page step 4 right click and update or serch for changes and if you see it there windows will try to install it if there has been uninstall or if there is an issue you can unistall and reinstall it

Xp indicates that it can't find an installed network adapter


Hello,

You will probably need to install the driver for it. Go to:

http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/search.asp?st=pn&param=5878

The network adapter driver is a part of the Motherboard Package. You will need to install it from there. I am not sure if you will get options to install each driver individually or if it installs everything in the package. Even if it does reinstall other drivers there should be no problems with the ones listed.

Suggest that you download all of the drivers here and save them to a CD/DVD for future use if needed. Also may want to bookmark the page above.

Hello,

Sounds like you have may have it run on startup. Just to see you can use msconfig to temporarily disable it by following these steps:

That usually means that a program that starts when Windows starts isnt functioning correctly, You can test it by clixking Start > Run > type Msconfig and press enter. After that click the startup tab. Here you will see programs that load when Windows starts.

If you recognize the program thats causing the issue, simply click the box to the left of the item to uncheck it and click OK. You will then be prompted to restart.

As the machine restarts, check to see if the issue has disappeared.

If so, great. Be aware that you that you will be prompted with a "System Configuration Utility" dialog that lets you know you are using Msconfig. If you don't want to be warned of this, click the box that says "Dont show this message..." and click OK.

If not, run Msconfig again, and uncheck the next suspicious program and repeat the process until the problem disappears.

Below is a link with information on using Msconfig. It also has other links that include information of some of the programs that you might see in the startup window of Msconfig.

NOTE:
There's is a "Disable all" button under the startup tab. But I wouldn't suggest using that initially. It is better to uncheck them one at a time so you can see what is causing the issue.
