Question about HP Compaq Presario V2000 Notebook

Crackling Audio Everytime I listen to music or watch a video the sound starts to crack and goes in slow motion, for a couple of seconds. But if I pause and unpause what ever that is playing, it goes back to playing smoothly

Is there any other programs running in the background IE Anti-Virus programs, or anything that could be using quite alot of Memory other the stuff your watching?
It could be either down to Lack of Memory being allocated to the Audio & Video (Probably the case if the machine has built in Shared Sound & Video Card). Try opening Task Manager and setting the Application that you use to play Music/Movies to High Priority.
If it's not that try lowering the Master Volume on the Mixer Device by going into the Volume Properties in the Task Tray (By the Clock).

You should try updating your audio driver.

Also,
Update your Adobe flash player software to the latest version:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

If that doesn't fix it you might have some viruses and malware.

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking". Now get some or ALL of the FREE programs below.

Download, Install and Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5756
When Installing choose the non-pro version.

Download, Unzip, Install and Run TDSSKiller:
http://majorgeeks.com/Kaspersky_TDSSKiller_d6895.html

Download, Install and Run Super Anti-Spyware:
http://majorgeeks.com/SUPERAntiSpyware_d5116.html

If you have an outdated Anti-virus program then Download, Install and Run Avira Anti-Virus:
http://majorgeeks.com/Avira_AntiVir_Personal_-_FREE_Antivirus_d955.html
Make sure to select ALL of the "threat categories" when you install or configure Avira...

You should be in pretty good shape if you run and install all of these programs.

Lagging audio acer aspire one

Sounds like the machine is getting bogged down. Download an app called CCleaner and check out everything that's starting when you start your computer. Aspire one's have a pretty small processor and graphics chip so you don't want to overburden it if you don't have too.

Download it from here:
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Then install it and select "Tools" on the left side.
Then select the "Start Up" tab just to the right of that.
Examine the list to see everything that's starting when windows starts. Disable everything that is non-essential and see if that helps.

Also, check to see if your graphics driver needs to be updated.

Good Luck!

Hi Joel_Kennedy!

Thank you for using Fixya.

Based from your description its maybe that your speakers might be grounded.

However, just a basic troubleshooting you may uninstall or reinstall your audio driver and if still having the same issue, speakers needs to be check for the ground issue.

Dell Inspiron E1505 absolutely no sound anymore

1. remove all external peripherals.
2. use the internal speakers
3. uninstall / reinstall the audio drivers
4. reboot system
5. if still hearing the crackling sound check if cracking sound can be heard only inside windows of even in the bios.
6. check bios hdd if in acoustic mode performance if yes then set it to normal.

Glitchy video and audio. may be graphics card. recurring problem

Download the "latest driver" for the ATI card that u have if you haven't done that. If that doesnt work restart your computer go into setup when your computers booting up and find the video card options then unclick the checkbox that says accelerated ..ect ect. then that should do it. goodluck

Week audio

Hi
You may have a volume switch on the outside of your laptop - if you can find one, make sure that is turned up.

Otherwise you'll have to buy some speakers/headphones - these are not overly expensive and will produce good sound quality.

Hope this helps!

Distorted and crackling sounds

please check sound using external speaker.
if the result is same as using internal speaker, it's mean your mainboard may have problem, but try to install sound driver first.
if the result is different, you may have some loose screews inside your laptop and it stuck on internal speaker.
if you still have warranty, send it to acer.
