Question about Toshiba Satellite A15-S127 Notebook

Password The laptop was working perfectly, until it froze up. So I restarted it, and suddenly, it's asking for a password. I have no idea what made it do this. Is there a default password, maybe?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I forgot my password for my dell laptop and i cant unlock it

For recovering Windows logon Passwords in safety, I would suggest software Windows Password Seeker. Not only work on XP/Vista/2000/NT, but also compatible with windows 7, it works perfectly to reset Windows Password. I burned it to a Usb stick. Booting up and clearing my password in just 4 minutes. You can Google Windows Password Seeker or download it from: http://www.passwordseeker.com

Upon boot up the computer is asking for a password (I don't know the password). I can get no further than this point.

If you are using windows xp , you can restart the laptop and press the f8 function key repeatedly until you come to a screen for boot mode selections. use the arrow keys to boot in safe mode. once in safe mode you can go to the controlpanel(user accounts) and delete the user password. then simply restart the laptop to gain acess normally. at this point you will no longer be asked for a password.

Power on password

HI,

Please see below for instructions on reset the BIOS password on your old Tecra.

  • Download KeyDisk from http://www.cgsecurity.org/keydisk.exe
  • Format a 1.44MB floppy disk and leave in your floppy drive
  • RunKeyDisk, this will create a special floppy disk to reset your laptop password.
  • Insert this disk into your Tecra laptop and reboot, the laptop should find the disk, boot from it and ask you for a password, press ENTER at this prompt and it will ask you for a new password.
If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to ask

Regards
Bytestream

Format the disk to be BOOTABLE using Windows and then with a hex editor, change the first five bytes of the second sector to 4B 45 59 00 00.
Then put the floppy into your machine and boot it up, you’ll be asked for a password, just press Enter. Then when you’re asked to set the password, type Y then Enter, this will get you into the bios configuration where you can then type in a new password.
