Question about HP PSC 1315 All-in-One Printer
This siuation happened quite suddenly and unpredictably it has pertained now for over 24 hours and lots f cool down time. I noticed it when I was trying to print some labels: first sheet, no problem; second and third, no action, so I tried to pull up the HP Director - nothing. I have since discovered that the printer will print all three pages of the labels if allowed to treat them as one document. All other functions of printing and photocopying are normal, except that I have begun, equally suddenly and many hours later than the above, to get black ink smudging on the top of A5 paper, 2nd side printing - no smudge on page 1, no smudge on A4. Without access to the HP Director, I am unable to use the scanner function from the computer, which I need to do if I am to send a scan by e-mail. HELP, please.
Hi Seaner, I would suggest removing HP Director from the computer using Add/Remove programs in the control panel and then reinstalling. If that doesn't work let us know what operating system you are using, any error messages, problems, or changes that lead up to this situation. Also don't forget to rate this posting when done.

This was good advice, but I couldn't do the suggested from Add/Remove Programs. I needed to insert the Installation CD and uninstall, reinstall the whole printer.
This done, I am no further on: still no HP Director, so no capacity to clean heads or to scan.
I am using Windows XP. There have been no helpful or otherwise error messages, no changes, no problems. Just a sudden no response.
All is revealed. I had an automatic advice that there was a new software update designed to prevent or restore HP Director problems. Now installed, my HP Director is back on screen! Very hard to anticipate this sort of thing, would you not agree? My scanner was out of action for over a week. My heads will now get a proper clean, which they need. Over and out.
have downloaded drivers/software, but no icons are put on my desktop, and nothing in my program files. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 4 times! Get no HP director anywhere. Please help!
