I've just had to do this. Somewhat annoying and I'm sure there must be a quicker way. Let me know if you find one. <br /><br />Firstly you need ArcGIS or something that can create .shp files. Load the Excel file into this. In Arc you need to right click the table and display the x y data (just to make sure it's all okay). Then save as a layer.
