I hooked up my cable box up to my sceptre tv and it had sounds but the picture is black and white I even went and bought the blue and green cords but still only black and white

With the blue/green/red cords (Component) you need to get a very good bright light on the connectors so you get the plugged into the correct COMPONENT connectors on the TV. Note, there are white and red AUDIO plugs right near the COMPONENT input so you need to be VERY careful. If you get it wrong, the colors on screen are often off and even black&white.

How is your cable box connected to the TV? Screw on "COAXIAL", Yellow, Red, White "RCA", single flat connector "HDMI" or 5 colored plugs 2 X Red, 1 X White, 1 X Blue, 1 X Green "COMPONENT"

Why is my TV screen PINK?

Have heard of this issue,in most cases while using HDMI cable.Try switching to component cable hookup.(Red/Blue/Green RCA type plugs). This will still give you Hi-Def.(don't forget to get a Red/White cord set for the audio also, unless you get a 5-way cord that does both).

I'M TRYING TO HOOK UP MY INSIGNIA 42'' 1080P FLAT-PANEL LCD HDTV TO OUR DVD PLAYER USING THE COMPONENTS (RED, BLUE, GREEN, RED & WHITE CABLES) PROVIDED AND THE PICTURE IS IN BLACK & WHITE....

The three picture cords (red/blue/green) often are a little larger around than the sound cords (red/white). If they are they same size, they are often grouped separate by picture and sound. Double check to verify if you have the "red" cords correct. Good luck.

How to hook up TV with set top Cable box

If you have a new HD cable box then I would use the RGB cables. It is a 5 cable cord with color codes of RED-GREEN-BLUE and a Red/White for audio. They will go from the output of the cable box to COMPONENT INPUT on the back of the set along with the audio in. This will give you the best possible picture and sound.

The people are blue and we have no option for changing the colour

the component video cables are switched around. there are 3 colors for video - green, blue and red
two for sound - white and red

make sure you didn't swap the red cables, or swap the blue and red, this is most likely the cause of your issue, check on both the sat box and on the tv

let me know if you require further assistance

I spent the last hour on the phone with tech support for my local cable company. after the duration, we came to the conclusion that there was in fact, not a space for the red, yellow and white chords....

Without seeing anything, the yellow=video, the red and white=audio. The yellow/video "output" of the cable box goes to the yellow/video "input" of the TV. The red and white are the audio that go from audio "output" of the cable box to the audio "input"of the TV. I don't know what the Cable company was telling you???? The cables are "RCA" and give you the worst clarity for a picture. If you cable box has three output ports colored Red, Green, and Blue ("Component') and you TV has the same three as inputs, that will make your picture much better. If you can hook it up with the component jacks, you will still need the audio RCA (red and white) between the two units. I hope this helps.

When switching on the screen goes pink then blue and there is sound but no picture and a no signal message is displayed

A " no signal" message on the screen means that the set is telling you that it is not receiving a signal from whatever component you have hooked up to it in most cases. But the main be can be bad. The input connections are on the Main bd. Try hooking up another source(Component) to that input and see if you get a picture. If you do then yo either have a bad comoonent or bad cables. If you do not get a picture then your Main bd is probably the issue.

Hi, how is the cable box hooked up to the TV? Is it HDMI cable or componet (red/green/blue) ? When you say totally green, do you mean the the picture is only green with the other colors missing or every color looks green ?

Proscan 26LB30Q Vs PS2 = HELP

The red white and yellow cables are composite connections. The red/green/blue connections are component connections.

The playstation's composite connections consist of two audio connections- red & white, and a composite yellow video connection. The TV's white connection is the audio, and the red/green/blue are component video. You need an adapter that will connect the one yellow(composite video) to the three red/green/blue (component video) connections

Dvd screen is pink

If you are using component cables to connect the DVD to the tv make sure you have the red, blue and green colors on your cables matching these colored jacks on the tv and DVD jacks. If one of these cables is plugged in wrong or not plugged in it could cause this. Good Luck
