Hi,

May I know if the standby led light at the front panel is blinking, if so please count how many times it will flash to determine the error code? If not follow the steps below.

My TV cycles on and into a standby mode about every 30 seconds. Very consistant cycle time

Hi,

Please make sure that the Standby light or the Lamp light of the TV is blinking. The light blinking of the TV indicates to the service code and be easily identified with the help of a service technician. If the Lamp light of the TV is blinking, then it indicates that the Lamp requires a replacement. The TV will cycles on standby mode if there is any internal malfunction in the TV.
You can try removing the connected devices from the TV to check if the issue is with the connected devices.
Turn the power of the TV to off and remove the power cord from the wall outlet.
Reconnect the TV directly to a working wall outlet and check if it works. Please remove any power surge protector if connected.
Also make sure that the TV is properly ventilated.

If the issue persists after the troubleshooting steps, then service may be required.

Thanks for contacting FixYa.

Dead no high voltage 5 red blinks

Hi.

The fault depends on make and model of your TV.

Even on TV from same manufacturer, blinking codes may have different meanings, depending on the model.

Regarding no high voltage, that may be simply because the unit is on protect mode.

On most TVs, when the controller board inside the TV detects a fault, it will shut down all higher voltages on PSU, and it will keep only the low voltage line (often +5V, or +3.3) on to keep unit in standby, and flash the error code.

I have a KDF-E50A12U Sony TV it won't turn on and keeps Flashing red twice, no other lights are on, just the stand by continually flashing twice.

Two blinks - B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits.

Standby light keeps blinking. tv wont turn on

If the TV goes off completely, then is usually a faulty power board.

If the TV goes in standby, then it is in protection mode.

Ensure also that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending
bad signal, check if you get same problem on DVD with no receiver box
connected.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the TV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

Dear rchoules,
The problem in your Tv lies in SMPS( switch mode power supply) circuit. Replacement of the smps board can solve the problem.
