Question about Philips 42PF9966 42 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television
The top left corner of my screen displays a 1"x10" row of vertical lines. This started as intermittent, became more persistent and now sometimes the top left corner goes completely blank. This occurs with any source.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

This is usually caused by a screen addressing fault. The location of the fault can be on the main screen driver board, or in the area for the screen address processing. It can also be matrix fault with the drive to the screen.
You will have to give the set out for an estimate. From this you can make the decision if the set is worth to service or not.

SOURCE: NO POWER ON PHILIPS 42PF9966/37
I had the same problem with a philips 42FD9932 and fixed with a great online tutorial. Just replace 3 capacitors available at Radioshack onthe the board. 2662, 2663, 2664 1 is a 1000uf the others are 100uf. Max Volts need to be over 25. It worked great, check http://dynamicorange.com/2008/06/25/fixing-a-plasma-tv/
