Question about Nintendo Game Boy Color Console

2 Answers

Game cartridge I recently purchased a used ZeldaDX cartridge, and when I turned it on the tittle screen comes on fine, but when I press start to continue, the screen glitches, turns white, and the sound goes to one solid tone. I took the case apart and polished the connectors w/ toothpaste then alchohol, let it dry and tried again. Same thing. So I damped a q-tip w/ alcohol and cleaned the handheld connectors, same thing. Next I cleaned my GBA and it still glitched. Maybe it was corrupted by a Gameshark?

Re: game cartridge

Gameshark has been known to corrupt both saved games and games themselves. Did someone at the store tell you to clean it with toothpaste and alcohol? I'm thinking what happened is the electronics were damaged due to either the toothpaste, the alcohol or both. Nintendo recommends cleaning your cartridges with a dry cloth to get the dust out. If it had some sort of liquid spilled on it before, which it sounds like it may have such as coca cola or the like, then it would have been damaged before you bought it.

Top and bottom screens are white

Sorry for the delay. If the dsi won't turn off when you first get the white screens, hold the power button for 8 seconds. The unit should go off. Take the game cartridge out of the unit and inside that cartridge slot, is a reset button. Using a toothpick or something, press it. Turn the unit back on and it should be fine. Hope this helps :D

Ds keeps coming up with "An error has occured. PRess and hold the POWER button to turn the system off" when I try to play Super Mario game. All other games are fine.

Since it is only causing a problem for this game, the problem is likely with the game and not with the DS itself.
Is this a newly purchased game? Sometimes black market games will show this problem.
If it is not new, then check the bottom parts of the game cartridge to see if there is some damage or dirt. These can make the game unreadable. If it's only fingerprints, you may be able to clean it, but otherwise you'll have to purchase a new cartridge.
Best of luck.

Why my sega gen mobile wont turn on?

The Sega Genesis 2 Console requires Game Cartridges. The console is only a processor and has no pre-loaded games.

N64 Blinking on and off

It seems like an issue with the cartridge slot (as in there's a bad connection somewhere, causing the connection with the cart to be lost, then restored, then lost... etc). Try giving it a good blast with a can of compressed air or possibly go over it with a Q-tip soaked in glass cleaner or 50% isopropyl alcohol.

It may also be an issue with the power cable. I have a similar problem with my Genesis resetting and turning off. It turned out to be caused by a faulty, loose, power cable. Try finding another power cable for your N64 and see if it makes adifference.
