Question about Pioneer AVIC-N2 Car DVD Player
I HAD MY AVIC N2 FOR A WHILE NOW ... THE FACEPLATE WILL NOT RESPOND TO ANYTHING I WANT IT TO DO EXEPT MAKE THE MUSIC LOUDER AND QUIETER WHAT DO I DO...AND WHY DID IT MAUNFUNCTION FOR NO REASON????? I TIRED USING A ERASER TO CLEAN THE BACK OF THE FACEPLATE AND IT DIDNT WORK.. PLEASE HELP!!!!
My touch screen quit and my screen no longer wanted to come out and open up. My poor radio was on its last leg.....I found a guy online that rebuilds the AVIC-N2 so I took a chance with it and sent him the radio.
I got it back and it's like a new radio again. He replaced the board in it and tuned it up all around. IN 2 DAYS!!! for $125!!!! so if you have a Pioneer or other hi grade radio that needs help contact me and I'll send you his number you can call him yourself and set up a time to get your radio refurbished. He also upgraded my NAV and OS for free.

Don't let hogan doan know anything about your problems. he will try to rip you off. He will be under a formal investigation really soon. Also, he will try to refer you to someone else to buy something who is probably in the "rip off" business with him. I sent him my faceplate so he could trouble shoot it and he kept it (might have sold it to someone else). I strongly recommend you do not listen to anything he says. Unless he returns me face plate really soon, he will be in a large amount of trouble for stealing from a government employee.

I am having the same problem and I tried cleaning it with an eraser too. Were you able to fix it?
If your AVIC-N2 ends up with the problem Russel had you "MUST" clean teh contacts on the HEAD ON with "CONTACT CLEANER" this can be bought in a very small can from Radio Shack for a few bucks. Spray it onto a q-tip then rub your contacts clean. Ensure when you are done the contacts are dry.
