It is quite common to find faulty print heads. I have seen entire lots that are bad. Just return it.....and my suggestion is not to exchange it. Try to get one somewhere else for the time being. Don't grab one from the same store because you might end up with the same lot and same problem.

Return it to Morrison's and get one from another store. I have seen entire lots that are bad, so you don't want to grab one from the same lot.

My ip2700 will not recognise and so will not print using this cartridge

Hello! here is your solution..
1. Purchase Cartridge No. 810 & 811. 2. Press Stop/Reset button for 5 seconds without releasing the button. 3. After 5 seconds your printer will start its process... now release the button.
Good luck..

Non-recognised ink cartridge

I haven't tried the Colour/B&W/Stop button combination suggested above, but on a Canon MG5250, switching off, then on, and immediately holding down the 'stop' button for 20-30 secs does seem to disable the block. After that the colour concerned has no indicator. It seems that refilled cartridges will woork for a few refills (showing low ink on the indicator) before requiring the permanent fix.

Sx405 will not recognise any cartridges . even epsom cartridges. at the moment i have 1 cartridge. black, not epsom, in the printer, but will not recognise any of the other colors

Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges?
ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother MFC-240C All-In-One InkJet Printer. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

IF YOU ARE USING GENERIC CARTRIDGES, MAYBE IT WOULD BE BETTER IF YOU DISABLE THE INK MONITOR.

This is the only advice I can give you.

The next step would be to disassemble the Epson, and clean the Pads/Heads. Click on link below.:

I located a page on http://www.fixyourownprinter.com forum, which had plenty of details about similar issues.

My Epson printer won'r recognise the new cartridge. Its a new full one but it thinks its empty and keeps asking me to replace it.

If you leave your printer powered on a lot of the time, then your cartridges might clog the printhead.

Epson has some exercises to clean the printhead, but they probably won't work. Call their customer loyalty hotline and tell them you think you haven't got your money's worth. They may offer you a replacement with the same or newer model. I have done this 3 times already.

Dell 942 AIO printer won't recognise black cartridge:

I think you purchased a black cartridge with bad electronics. Basically your cartridge can't communicate with your printer and you should exchange it for a new one. There is no way to "fool" your printer into accepting refills with bad electronics. What you can do is when you get the message that you aren't using genuine cartridges and it won't be able to estimate ink levels is to check the box indicating to ignore the ink levels.

Canon MP510 wont recognise cartridges

Using replacement cartridges that come without a chip seems to be the problem I had with the Canon Pixma 510 printer they are cheaper
but if they do not show the ink levels then its inconvienent so I have but Canon products with a chip and they work perfectly.
