Re: Blurry Screen

There are various things that can lead to this.
i've had some trouble with it as well, but now it's solved.

i used to disconnect my vga cable, and then connect it again. mostly, that kept my screen sharp for a day or two.

but since my screen broke (it turned pink) i returned it to the story i bought it, and they shipped it to an acer center. there i got new software installed on my screen, and since then it's been sharp.

there's a note on this in the manual you got with your screen, maybe that could help you too.

Re: Blurry Screen

Delete the plug and play monitor driver and reboot. Trouble is this worked for only one day and had to be done the next. Wish I knew a permanent solution. It appears to be a driver issue. Will see if I can reload the monitor specific drivers instead of plug and play.

Icons are blurry

Did it happen all of a sudden? In other words, was it OK before?

Try going to screen preferences, settings, and look at the resolution slider - is it set to the native resolution of your monitor (1280x1024)? If not, correct and accept changes.

If the resolution is set OK, then multiple other things might have happened, but not knowing a bit more about the situation it's hard to advise anything...

Al 1916 problem

really? here's the thing..try to check the display settings the menu button of your monitor then try adjust the contrast, brightness and colors as well to your desired level..if your'e using LCD monitors, these are very sensitive and can be easily damaged if don't handle it very well..don't press the auto button always because it will automatically adjust the settings every now and then..

Dell UltraScan P1110 flat-screen monitor BLURRY?

The button you pressed is the reset button and according to the documentaton "returns the monitor to factory defaults".

Here's a link to the Dell support page for your monitor:

Regarding the lines that were orginally were trying to fix; see Damper Wires in Troubleshooting in the above documentation and you'll see that they're a fact of life with this type of monitor. I realize this may not have been your problem, but then again...

I'm surprised that the factory reset made things blurry. Usually this is the result of less than optimum settings on the display adapter in your computer rather than the monitor itself. The Trouble Shooting guide says the brightness and contrast being set too high can cause this so that may be worth checking.

I think you should check your display adapter settings after you try the Troubleshooting suggestions. On the desktop of your computer right click in an empty spot and select Properties. Click on the Settings tab and see what the resolution is. If it's not 1280x1024 you might want to try that. Everything on the screen may suddenly appear smaller so don't be surprised. I would also check the monitor frequency. This will probably be found under Advanced. Every display adapter is different so I can't tell you exactly where to look, just polk around. If you start changing things you may want to write down the original settings so you can at least get back to where you started if there's a problem.

Lastly, I want you to know I'm not paid to provide these suggestions. I know it's a strange hobby, but I like helping when I can. If you find this helpful I hope you'll take a moment and provide a positive rating. About half of the solutions I've posted have never been rated... Thanks and good luck.
