Question about Saniflo SaniPlus-Round SaniPlus Macerator Toilet with Round Bowl

Shower does not empty

We have put a Sanisuite 2 Macerator in a bathroom. We have connected a sink and a shower. The Toilet works the macerator but the shower just fills up and overflows. The shower tray is higher than the WC waste and has a good fall. The sink sometimes causes the macerator to work but not always. Any one got any idea why this does not work with the shower? It is as if there is an air block.

can i put toilet overflow in to maceratot

  • Anonymous Mar 29, 2014

The shower water is draining away very slowly so shower base overflows, I cannot hear the macerator working. Wash basin and toilet working fine

The macerator is taking away the water from the wash basin and toilet but is not pumping water
from the shower. Consequently shower is overflowing

I cannot see how anyone can get a fall from a shower tray to a macerator unit unless the macerator is below floor level.

Toilet and shower runs great for a year> just had a sink hooked up and now toilet and shower back-up> was the sink hooked up wrong? to a vent or wrong pipe>

Nah, that doesn't sound like the toilet or sink were hooked up wrong, your sewage tank is probably full, you can have it pumped out for $100 or so. They fill up every so often for w/e reason.

I've had a saniplus toilet system (with toilet and sink) for about 10 years. Suddenly stopped working as well. The macerator pump runs in shorter bursts and the water level in the toilet goes down

You should check the 1 1/2" vent pipe if there is one attached to the top of the pump casing. The vent pipe must be vented to the open air, outside of the house so the unit can breath air in and out at all times. A lack of airflow usually creates this type of problems. Leave the vent connection open to the room and flush the toilet, you will see the difference when pumping.

3yr old saniflo + started making loud vibrating noise and smells also small black particles come out - husband opened top and looks like a mesh thing has disintegrated. Toilet is at end of sink, bath /...

Unfortunately the systems are desiged to pump out. The disintegrated screen thing is part of the maceration end of the system. Your going to have to clean the thing out and replace the macerator.

Sanicompact motor operates continuously but bowl doesn't clear. Have emptied bowl manually and poured Saniflo cleaner in.

This problem occurs when the flush button is damp after cleaning the whole toilet with a shower. Solution: Wait till it dries up 2) if you have installed a main switch put it on and at the same time press the flush button.

I have a saniplus in a bathroom with a sink & shower. It isn't used often. The water backs up in the shower. The toilet won't flush, only hums. Any suggestions?

If the pump is humming and backing up then there is a blockage on the drain pipe, blades or the impeller. Also the capacitor may have gone bad and it will need to be replaced. The capacitor drives the blade and impeller, if it goes bad then it would just hum and not pump out the waste.

This seems like a problem with your cistern and not your macerator - I have a similar set up and if your push button is stuck you need to check the mechanism in the cistern - also you should have an overflow that drains into your loo within the cistern so you should check this for blockages as well.

Bad smell after using toilet or shower or sink.

You have a trap missing or a vent somewhere it shouldn't be. Your toilet could be leaking gas at the wax ring. If you just changed it, take it off, put on another wax ring, and squish it back down. Don't caulk it, grout it. If it is something else you just replaced, check the back of the sink, is the trap in place? Is there a auto vent somewhere under there? In the wall? How about the shower? Is it new? Does it have a trap on it? Are you hooked into the sewer or do you have a septic tank? I would need all that to know exactly what is happening.

The saniflow unit is only 4 months old at first it was ok now it has started making a loud grinding noise when anything is done, toilet, sink or shower

There is no nice way to say it. You are going to heve to open it up and look in it to find what's stuck in the macerator mechanism.
