You do not have a battery in it AND it's not plugged in? It requires at least one to be present. Can you explain what you mean?

E machine 510 wont charge!

Yes, remove the battery from the laptop.

Plug-in power adapter and turn ON laptop (without battery).

After the laptop starts up and Windows has settled, put battery back in the laptop.

Allow to charge for a few hours.

I would try another power supply, as the one you have may not be providing enough power to both run and charge the laptop.

Acer aspire 4920 charging mechanism failed

Most laptops, as in 99%, have one board and everything is on it. They don't really have a power supply since the AC adpater provides DC voltage already. There is just a voltage divider that take the incomming voltage and changes it to the various voltages the machine needs. The charging mechanism is also on the mainboard. I've very seldom seen a seperate power or charging board in a laptop. Unfortunately since you've already replaced the battery and the ac adapter and since the adapter is powering the laptop then there is definitely a problem with the charging circuitry on the mainboard. This isn't something one can repair unless you start changing micro components and ICs on the board which isn't recommended. Looks like a new mainboard or a new laptop is in your future if you want it to run off battery.

Another option is to get an external battery that mimics your ac adapter but that wouldn't give you a very long run time compared to the internal battery.

My laptop is a toshiba satellite P25-S526. I cant seem to get the power supply to charge the battery. I have replaced both the battery and power supply and those were not the problem. why wont my...

If you have a volt meter measure the power coming out of the power supply and make sure the outlet is good that you are plugging it into.

Try resoldering the connection on the circuit board where the power supply plugs into it. There may be a loose connection or a crack in the board that you could jumper around using a short piece of wire soldered around the break.

The laptop fell while the power lead was inserted it pushed the pin to the side an stopped charging it now wont turn on

Replace the power supply or the motherboard of your laptop, if your laptop still has its own warranty try to call the technical support of your laptop manufacturer and asked them to replace your power supply or motherboard. But if you dont have any warranty from your manufacturer, you must still call them to purchase a new power supply or motherboard.

What is getting hotter your power supply adapter or your battery, avoid very hot things - get it replaced with new one.

Caution - If your battery is getting hot there is a chance of explosion. dont keep it connected long time it can damage your computer motherboard

Power supply will not charge battery on lattitude d 510 laptop

It may not be the power supply. The Battery can only take 500 charging cycles in it's lifetime. the battery could have failed or the chip on the motherboard that regulates voltage to the battery may have failed.

Easy test for power supply is with battery removed if it still powers up the laptop than the voltage and amperage are sufficient.
