Question about Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO (F5D9230-4) Router (1010835)

Connection no longer works (plus site)

I went onto and while trying to figure out how to add security to my wireless connection I clicked something, I have no idea what it was...And it 'applied changes'

Suddenly my internet cut off and I've tried everything to get it back on again but nothing seems to work!

I'm on the main computer now (that has the modem) and when I try to access the site from here to clear the changes it just doesn't work..

I've also tried to access it from my PS3 but even that can't connect to the wireless any more.

I assume windows OS.
if your computer is connected to your router,
open a command prompt (windows key + r and type cmd in the run box)
type ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

ipconfig /all
look for the ip address of the Default Gateway

open web browser
type http://(default gateway ipaddress) (notice the lack of "www.")
this should get you started.

I can not figure out how to get the computer to make a wireless connection.

Add the Home SSID to the Preferred Network List After you set the SSID on your home gateway, you may need to add it to your preferred network list if Windows XP Wireless Auto Configuration is enabled. (Although automatic configuration is nice to have, your IT department may have disabled it on your laptop in order to meet their needs. If they have, you'll need to use the tool provided by your laptop or wireless manufacturer to manually configure wireless settings.) To manually add your home wireless network to the list of preferred networks when Wireless Auto Configuration is enabled, follow these steps:
• In Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.
• Right-click the Wireless Network Connection, and then click Properties.
• On the Wireless Networks tab, shown in Figure 3, click Add.
Figure 3
• In the Wireless network properties dialog box, shown in Figure 4, enter the SSID you configured for your wireless gateway (ExampleHome_g in this example.)
Figure 4
Note: Figure 4 assumes you've added the Windows WPA Client Update. If you haven't downloaded and installed it, you probably should. For more on the WPA Client Update, see Overview of the WPA Wireless Security Update in Window XP.
• Fill in the rest of the fields, including the necessary authentication and encryption information based on the configuration of your wireless gateway.
• Click OK and your home network will be added to the list of preferred networks.
Now, whenever you're at home, your work laptop should automatically see your home wireless network and connect to it.

Dsl modem+ wireless router, no internet when i add a new phone

You may have crossed the wires on the new connection. This may be causing a short and shutting down the connection. Try reversing the two wires for the new phone. Then retest the connection.

Please leave feedback if this solves your problem.

I have a g router and i tried to set it to secure but i guess i jacked it up cause it knows its there but it wont hook up i went back into security settings but it doesnt work for me please help

Usually when people set security they don't pay attention to the security code that it generates or you create.

  • Remote back into your router
  • Go to the wireless menu
  • Find security settings
  • Turn off security
  • Connect to that connection with your computer again.
  • return to the wireless security settings
  • Use the wpa security. It will request a password or code you want to use
  • Return to your computer and reconnect (it should show a padlock on the connection now)
  • Double click the connection name and it will request the wpa key.
  • You can use other securities, but you need to use that same key on both the router and computer

Some sites have suddenly been blocked

If your internet connection is still working fine, then it is not a connection issue. Try visiting other sites to prove this. Otherwise, it is a website security issue banning your IP due to violating their security protocol. You can email their site admin then. Regards!

Connection Down - Can't access website

its better if you reset the router to its default settings..

Reset button can be found on the back side of router....It will be a small red button....

Hold this button for 10 sec... and it will go to default seting..

now you can configure it according to your requirements...

Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO (F5D9230-4)

normally, if you configure the wireless security settings wirelessly, it will automatically disconnect you from the network. you have to input the security key on the laptop first before it connects you back to the network.

i suggest, if you really like to configure the settings of your router, get an ethernet cable, connect it directly to the laptop so you can access and configure the router settings and to avoid from being disconnected
