Question about HP LaserJet 1300 Printer

I have a LaserJet CM1312 MFP. No communication with computer.

I have checked the usb cable and port, both ok. I uninstalled drivers and tried to reinstall, but it will not finish because the PC doesn't detect it.
I just bought the printer 10/22/08..... It's been working fine. I have surge protectors in place for all components of my PC. I bought the printer from Office Depot in Longview, TX. (HELP) ....please.......

Did the Ox50 error have any additional information with it or happen only with network printing?

Frequently, this error is associated with a font being sent to the printer with the PCL 6 (printer control language). The temporary fix is to turn the printer off and then on (to clear its memory).

Next try going to the Printing preferences by right clicking on the printer in the Printers control panel. (For XP, click Start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. In Win7, click Start > Devices and Printers (or Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > View Devices and Printers). Then right click on the LaserJet CM1312 icon and select the Printing Preferences. Go to the Advanced tab and change the Print Data Optimization option from Advanced to Optimize for Text and Vector.

If this doesn't work, uninstall the printer (right click again). Then reinstall the network printer using the PCL 5 universal printer driver. The PCL 5 driver is the last one in that section.

If the printer is connected to one computer via a USB connection and then that computer is the printer server for the others, you may need to disconnect USB cable and uninstall both the universal print driver and the regular printer driver. Then reinstall them in the opposite order.

Bought a new macbook air and want to install my Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP. when connected via USB the printer prints. however if i use the set up assistant, the printer is not recognized. can not install...


Deleting the printer and then reinstalling it using the Gutenprint Drivers for the HP 1300 Series in the Add Printer pull down will allow you to print B/W. This works wirelessly over an Airport Extreme, so I assume that it will work wired. I am searching for a solution that prints in color. Amazing that HP and Apple seem content to orphan such a widely-used and relatively recent MFP.

the drivers for the scanner might have been corrupted
you might have to uninstall the printer/scanner restart your computer then reinstall the printer/scanner and its drivers
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to ports(COM&LPT) + to expand you should see a communication port and Ecp printer port you might see a yellow?question mark this will mean you need to install a new driver for this device right click you will have options to update driver,disable,uninstall or select properties again you will have the similiar options plus you can troubleshoot

The computer recognizes the hardware, however scanner is not scanning. Have windows XP. How can I tell if the scanner is broken, there are no lights on it?


your scanner is ok.
But there is communication problem from computer to scanner .
For that
Check your usb cxable and usb port of computer working fine.
Try in another usb port.
If you have other port like parallel port then check it.
Check drivers of scanner are instaled proeprly.
Ig already installed then uninstall it and install again.
Also uninstall all usb drivers then restart the computer then it automatic install usb drivers .
you can uninstall usb drivers from computer with device manager.
Press windows key + Pause break key to see system proeprty then go to hardware then you see device manager then uninstall all usb drivers.

I have HP 3390 Laserjet MFP. The USB port no longer works


What is the exact error message you receive?You don't mention what OS you're using, but have you seen this article? Also make sure you have a good power supply to the printer. (refer here.) Possibly update your printer drivers.
Also check through these steps. Check here. And make sure you can ping the printer. ( see here).

Port not recognized - printer and computer do not communicate


unplug printer ,shut down printer, shut down computer, then restart computer, and plug printer back in after computer is fully up and running turn printer back on
and that should solve the problem
