Just bought games for comp.can play games for a little bit then comp shuts down this game is Secrets of the east another is mahjonngg variety pack and another is tiki boom boom..Is there something I need to get for comp.I have been told I need to have directx9.0.

This could be due to a failing battery pack, video games cause a very high demand on battery power.

I don´t know,what you know about comp., but I will try give you some instruction.
1. In the game option try change screen resolution 1024x768 32 bit, or 1024x768 16 bit, 800x600 32 bit, or try if you have option brightness down, or details on medium.
2. Look you drivers for grafik and sound, go to directx on start on run and write directx, and see that you grafik card have 3 option enabled.
3. Look in windows task manager that you comp. have, without the play game, very busy CPU.
4.If that so, you must find what is the problem, hardware or software.

check the video drivers are up to date and also the video settings are not set too high in game...

I had the same problem with GTA4.  I had to get an update for the game.  Check the website for updates for that game.  I also had to change a setting with the way it connects to the network.

This is a built in temperature overheating contermeasure. Make sure your xbox is not in an enclosed area or on a carpet. If posssible, place a fan next to it and see if that gets you increased playtime. If it does, then you know its a problem with it overheating.

Is this only playing a specific game? Every Game? Demos? Listening to Music? Watching Dvds?

Playing a game puts the most stress on the 360.

Bejewled has a support page. Contact them and they can fix it. Also, you can try uninstalling the game and delete everything associated with it. All folders and so on. reboot computer. Shut it down and re-install it.
