Question about HP Compaq nx5000 Notebook
Hi I amtrying to setup dual screen for a couple of these laptops .the setup works like this : user will use a external screen and his laptop screen and will be extended onto the external screen If the setup is done and external monitor connected ,you can reboot and will work fine ,will pick up external screen dual view works cool if you shutdown and take out vga cable of external screen and switch on laptop and only work on laptop screen at home ,come back ,place vga cable back in laptop you have to manually enable the extended option so that external screen works again .it does not keep the configuration of how external monitor works .I have updated bios to latest ver as well as the intel graphics controller (82852/82855 gm/gme)controller but still doesnt keep settings .Does anybody know this prob and a solution for it?
What program are you using for the dual setup? Place a shortcut in startup. usually an external monitor is used in place of the laptop LCD. The Monitor may need to be #1 and the laptop LCD#2 http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intel852gm/sb/cs-009064.htm?iid=search& This site may help too. Good Luck, Tim
