I have the same problem but it's a laptop so no cable. A geek squad guy said it's probably the inverter.

I'm not sure if this will solve the problem but it is worth a shot.
I have a 19" Proview that does the same thing only in green.
I finally chased the problem to the VGA cable. When I move the cable around at the back of the computer, it straightens out and works fine. If your monitor has a changeable VGA cable try that. If it is like mine where it has a fixed VGA cable, you might be able to have someone replace the cable. If that does not solve the problem, it is probably the inverter board or something inside the unit.

Until this morning, my screen has worked fine, but today I booted up the computer and the resolution has gone super strange. No matter what I try it won't go back to how it was. Any ideas?

Looks like the graphic driver setting has gone crazy. The simple solution is - update / re-install your ATI or NVidia graphic driver and things will return back to normal.

Also do a virus scan, just in case to see if any malware or virus has seiged your system.

The monitor color has changed showing everything without the red tints or hues

Inspect all the pins at both end of the video cable and make sure they are seated properly.
You can also try it with another PC to make sure it is not video card problem.
Please leave rating if it helps.

Monitor turn on button is stuck

The monitor screen is black can be caused by bad caps in the power supply, bad inverter circuits, or worst will be bad lamps, you need to open it up and look at the power supply for bad caps first, look for caps with bulging top or bottom seal and then report back so we can guide you further, see example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Red tint on Viewsonic P930b

Hello,

We do a lot of LCD monitor repairs and usually when you get the red tinted display it means the backlight tube is going out. This part is like a very small fluorescent tube just like in you office lamps. The tube is part of the display section and is very hard to replace. You can check the power supply first just to be sure. We have a dis-assembly/repair guide on our web site at: www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm If you find any bad capacitors you can change them and check but I would be it is the backlight tubes, if so just replace the monitor.

I had the same problem, you must call Viewsonic to change your screen. The DVI input on the screen is dead.
