Receiving the message error 8 when I turn the coffee maker on. I turned the switch off for 10 seconds like the manual said and it still appears.

I just fixed mine, it was part of the hopper system. If part of the mechanism is jammed it will flag a error code 8. The part that broke was the little black hopper unit that swings to allow the coffee ground to go down the hopper, it appears that there is a defect in the swing cover as this stainless mechanical spring will break and cause for the hopper to not move properly. What happens is when the spring breaks it caused for the hopper guide to come out of the slot and jambs, when it jambs the unit knows that it is not completing it hopper cycle and flags an error code, in this case #8. The only thing you need to do is put the hopper guide back in its slot and that's it, the only problem is it will take multiple efforts to align the cover but I found that you can fish your hand through the tray opening and guide it into place.

Machine would not stop grinding. Why?

There are a couple of things that will cause this.
1. Your grind is too fine. Turn the big knob in the bewn hopper to a larger #
2. You are using a shiney bean that has more oils and the oils are sticking the coffee together.
3. Your passage way to the doser from the grinder is blocked with coffee. Try turning the small knob in the bewn hopper to the neutral position.

Vac out the bean chamber, then remove the 2 or 3 screws and carefully lift the bean hopper off the machine, then continue cleaning the grinder, careful not to lose the gasket around the top of the grinder. When done reassemble and try to brew but do not add beans to hopper as yet. Until you are sure all the plastic pieces are out.

Machine says beans are empty and will not brew.

Try adjusting the grinder coarser when it is running. Either the grind is too fine or the grinds chamber is blocked, remove the brew unit and check the gate to the grinder on the inside right.

Ground coffee piles up before getting to steam unit

HI
There are 2 knobs in the bean hopper. Turn the large knob to the largest number. You can turn the knob to a larger number any time but it has to be grinding to turn to a smaller number. Now replace everything and make your coffee. Once you have made your coffee you can turn the knob back to a number that was higher than the one you had it on, but only when the grinder is running.
If that didn't do it. Sounds like you have a blockage in you grind passage. Try removing the brew group. Then inside on the roof of the machine where the brew unit was setting there is a drop chute where the coffee is dropped into the brew unit. From the left side of the drop chute pull down and back, and it will drop coffee. This will clear an opening that relieves pressure on the passage. There is a passage inside the drop chute area that goes to the grinder. Vacuum it out. It will be on the right side of the drop chute.
Once that is cleared go to the bean hopper and follow the first part again.

I've just plugged in my new 2nd hand machine and water went all over the bench and floor and not in the cup...how can I make a cup of coffee?

Hi
Your inlet water line has become disconnected from the inlet port. There are 2 Torex #10 screws under the water tank You need to remove the bean hopper (2 screws), then there is a screw in the back under the bean hopper. loosen the 2 screw in the front bottom of the main cover (each corner). Lift the back up by the water tank. The hose connects to a filter and its about 3/8 " silicone. It connects to the port (make sure that you get the one that is open because thee are a few that look right) Once connected lower and place a water tank with water in it to check that you got the right one. The reinstall all the screws and you done.

Grinder won't stop

Hi
You have a micro switch on the doser that is in need of a replacement. It is a special micro switch that is just for the doser. It is very sensitive. If the micro switch is not activated the grinder will run until it times out, but the coffee will fill the brew unit and that could break the brew drive.

Water in bean dispenser/grinder

Hi,

If you look at the bean hopper you will see two screw, loosen this and take off the bean hopper. Now you will see the grinder, you have to take of the adjustment on the side, that plastic on the grinder.

Now you can turn the ring anticlockwise, and take out the middle of the grinder.

Let me know if you wondering about anything
