The carriage is what holds the ink cartridges. If you open that and make sure that there is nothing that is blocking the carriage from moving. If there is remove it. If the machine is powered off you should be able to slide the carriage by hand back and forth along the metal shaft that it rides on. If it feels like it is sticking you can wipe the shaft off with a clean lint free cloth. DO NOT add and oil to the shaft. Power the machine back on and it should work. If it still errors out you will probably have to bring it to a repair place.
