I have had this problem quite a few times with my old phone i took the sim card out and put in a new one for 5 mins then put the old one back in then it was fine again. you can also go onto the your own network website and re-download the settings for your phone but putting your number in. hope this helps.

If you are referring to Voicemail messages, your only bet is to contact Straight talk and see if they save them for a period of time after you delete them. Same may go for text msg's as well. Not all companies will save them once you delete them. Usually once you delete them off the device, they are gone, however, I have heard of some companies saving them for a period of time (like 30 days) once you delete them aka archiving them. If they don't archive them for later retrieval then sadly you may be SOL.... :( Good Luck! Hope this was useful!
do you have 3g turned on? if you do and still have trouble, go onto your networks website, go to the existing customers bit and request a text message with the mms settings. open the message they send and follow the instructions
